Low profile tires give better handling in corners because the tire doesn't deform much. It's then possible to attack corners with higher speed compare to high profile.
@kiwishbj12 жыл бұрын
It's not just about the deformity. Americans please. School is good. It's about the center of gravity it creates for the vehicle.

My dad used to have all season tires. But their performance in snow was so bad that he now uses a seperate set of winter and summer tires again. All season tires are worse than summer tires during warm weather and also worse than winter tires during cold weather. I'd only use them if I want to save as much money as possible.

I use all-season tires, including a cold winter(-10...-20, deep snow, ice) and it's ok if you are not racing. On my 4WD Jeep Grand Cherokee

May I add few points I think where missing? All season tires have really poor performance under rain/ in wet conditions. Winter tires have several subcategories missing: Nordic (suitable for really cold weather), studded (best ice grip), European (for milder winter), friction or studless (suitable for driving on compacted snow but not optimal for icy roads). 😊

Low profile tires are usually run at very high pressures and are stiff as hell not to mention every low pro tire i have needed to buy was much more expensive than if i had a smaller diameter rim but also considering most companies following this trend make it impossible or very limited on what can be unchanged and still fit over the brake calipers and still be able to turn or hit bumps without rubbing in the wheel well before you need to do other modifications like rolling fenders or lift/lowering kits rotor/brake upgrades

A little somethin on Highway tires (road tires) they are also skinnier for the fuel side of things, my mother had her tires swapped out from factory tires to road tires cause she was goin on a 4 thousand mile road trip which in some cases saved fuel

Why do tires develop dry rot and still have plenty thread left and do not give but about half what is advertised the mileage rating advertised they say you should get? I bought the scorpion Pirelli tires that were on the car and rotate tires regularly and drive speed limits and yet I only am getting around 35,000 miles before dry rot is occurring. They are not cheap but I think they were advertised to get almost twice the road amount of road life but no where near what I am getting and they need replacing already? I am an average driver and still have under 100,000 miles on my Lincoln MXX. Why does this happen? This is now the third set I will now need to replace and I get alignments when called for and check tire pressure regularly. I live in Texas. The tires otherwise have been great but WHY am I not getting the range they advertise? Thanks.
