Wait, what? Over 30K views, but less than a thousand likes? C'mon people, the least you can do is hit the like button if you watched any part of his video!! 🤷🏽‍♀ Help his algorithm... We want him to make more videos.

It takes a lot of time to explain everything step-by-step, but that is the best way to get the information across. Thanks for your kind words!

Nice job! If vinyl siding is going on the house I like to pad the back of the bird box with a 1x board. Then you just square cut your vinyl corner and run J up the bird box. Comes out nice and clean and the flimsy notch you would have in the corner doesn't looked gapped there. Also checking that your soffit is square periodically might save newbies from getting to the end and having the end cut be crooked. Also if you take part of the end cutoff and nail it to the end 'under' the soffit that will keep the very end of the soffit from looking gapped or flapping in the wind.

Great tutorial.. BUT I highly advise against a soffit vent for bathrooms. I know you said it's for a half bath and that's fine, but for anyone installing them on a full bath, you might as well vent directly into your attic because the steam will rise through the soffit vents and into the attic. Best thing you can do is vent through the roof to prevent moisture accumulating in the attic and causing mold issues or worse

Can you show how to renovate a 1960’s house that sofets is not big enough to match the ridge vent? I suspect if I pull back the vinyl siding, I will find solid wood or a few soffit vents. House gets hot in the summer.

When extending PVC beyond 18 feet I stopped using 45-degree scarf joints. I instead cut a 3/8 x 3/8 rabbet on the end of each piece for a half-lap joint. One setting and one pass with a router is all it takes. When a scarf joint opens up it will allow water to enter all the way back to the framing. A half-lap will not as the opening is backed up by the tongue of the piece behind it.

Great video sir. Having worked with a lot of PVC, I highly recommend long miter outfeeds. I simply put an oversized piece of plywood between my saw and brackets and screwed blocks to the plywood that sit ~1 9/16" below the table. This allows me to use any 2x material, new or scrap, as my outfeeds. Most of the time I just use 6' 2x10s but for PVC I use 16' 2x10s. I believe the dewalt stands upright supports set to the lowest setting do perfectly accommodate for the 2x. This also allows me to freely clamp or screw stop blocks. I have a short video somewhere buried on my channel if you want to check it out. Very simple. You can do the same with your table saw in the front and back using a couple Ridgid outfeeds with 2x10s on top. I've also transitioned to using butt joints with PVC biscuits. It's a little quicker and less moody than scarfs as alignment is instant and it holds the end up for you while you nail it. I'd also recommend white pluggable screws for a real finish look but, realistically, you can get away with just nails if you glue everything. You're creating a brick of PVC as the glue molecularly bonds, essentially melting it all together. I also recommend stainless nails because the price difference is trivial for 16G straights. Probably $30 total for an entire job. Awesome work as always.

I have built my 12 x 16 shed with no windows and a double door only. I am now ready for the siding but have never done vinyl siding. Using your great instructions I just installed the bird boxes. Can I ask the correct order of execution? Would it be....1) F channel and soffit 2) Aluminum on fascia 3) Corners 4)J channel around door casing and soffit areas 5) starter strip 6) siding
