This uses a 20 ounce container of Tang mix and the lemonade mix equals 1 cup, just in case anyone was wanting exact measurements.

I was given this recipe years ago and have measurements a smaller batch and used a Wyler's lemonade packet. So I assume it would use 2 cups of instant lemonade. These include 1/2 cup instant tea, 2 cups of tang, 2 1/2 cups of sugar, (adjust this with the instant lemonade as there is sugar in it). 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, and 1 tsp of ground cloves. Thank you for all you and your family do. I made this the other day minus the extra sugar & perfection. Just st sweet enough

My mother made Russian tea my whole life and I am in my 60's. I never could stand it but what I would give for a cup with her now. She went to Heaven 4 years ago at the age of 90. Oh how I miss her.

Do you need the sugar since the lemonade, tang and tea were all sweet?
@mpedmar97014 жыл бұрын
I remember making this in the 70's at our church for our Christmas Potluck. We made ours with cloves in it . At the Potluck we had it set up in the industrial coffee dispenser. We had pineapple slices and orange slices that we boiled on the stove with the mix. Before we put the tea in the coffee dispenser we took the fruit out cut it up and used them to add to the cups. It was delicious. I don't recommend using a coffee dispenser (unless it's a glass carafe) it was a booger to clean. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. God bless
@mpedmar97014 жыл бұрын
I also forgot to mention we didn't add any extra sugar in our mix when making it . But offered sugar beside the dispenser for individual use.

@@TheFarmingPastorsWife Well, as Dolly Parton said in Steel Magnolias, " I think there's a story there..." Russian tea in our house was a very strong tea my Great Gramma made and then added hot water to and we drank with milk as kids and either had Vienna fingers or oreos with---back when oreos came in a box and 1 sleeve was golden oreos and 1 sleeve was the chocolate ones...thanks for bringing back a nice memory for me!🤗🍁🍂

My NC Mama’s “Russian Tea” recipe was… simmer cinnamon sticks and cloves in water on the stove for a few hours… keep adding water as necessary…then make strong black tea, about a gallon…add 1 container OJ concentrate, a large can (probably bottle nowadays) pineapple juice, a cup of sugar and the juice from the cinnamon/clove water. YUMMY, but super sweet! 😂 Not sure I could take all that sugar anymore! BUT, it’s not convenient to make a cup at a time like you could a dry mixture!
