Vicky, Honey's eyes show a lot of kindness, but they also show pain. It's hard to trust when you've been abused and neglected. She definitely shows faith in Allen to allow him to pick her feet up so easily and move around her without the least bit of hesitation or fear. She is absolutely darling and so gentle around you. I really want to watch her as she grows more and fills out. It would be a very special gift back to you if she were to be pregnant, but she needs every ounce of nutrition she gets to make up for the time before she was rescued. I hope that if she is, they will both be able to have a healthy, happy future. She so deserves the kindness you both are giving her. Thank you both. Many blessings for the whole Palmer family, God has truly blessed you and will continue to do so in the future. I am sure Blake will love seeing what an addition you have. Allen, he may be able to help with her care in the future. Don't be too angry (lol) about your son-in-law giving your little training secret away. My father taught me the way to make my always running horse to slow down and walk. He took me to where a stream had made a long muddy area , he made me ride her back and forth through the mud until she tired. From that time on, when I tried to walk her, she walked. It worked, but she & I were both very tired. Good luck with Honey, I hope you all the best.

Hello Allen and Vicky, Honey is going to be a beautiful horse when she puts on more weight and grows up. Her eyes are kind but they also show a little mistrust. The mud training is a great way to get your horses use to walking in mud. Peyton seems to like the mud also. It was so nice to see a child playing in the mud. As a teacher’s assistant I have known students that don’t even know what playing in the mud is. Have a wonderful week and May God Bless You and Your Family.

You have taught alot of people what's going on with their horses. They enjoy a really good water hole. My girlfriend and I were out riding one morning. On the way back, mine decided to stop at a large waterhole to get a drink. Or so I thought! My girlfriend was yelling, "Kick him, Lynn, kick him!" I was thinking how mean! She yelled, "If you don't, he'll lay down and roll in it!" ❤😊 She explained later that he would take advantage of the waterhole. AND I WOULD END UP WITH A BROKEN LEG!

She does have kind eyes. I think she will do anything you ask her as I'm sure she knows your care. She is going to look so good once she gets some meat on her bones. You are right, you have to bring her weight up slowly as too much too soon will become a health hazard for her. A good six months to a year and she will look like a completely different horse. Those Navajo Nation Horses are very sturdy animals because they are basically raised on the land and out in the open. They seem to be very hardy horses as well. Anyone that has any of these horses knows what I'm talking about. As always, the best to you and yours!

This is during the wet time of the year. Meaning lots of wet hoof problems can be rampant. I live in a similar soil situation. This garbage is the wrong time of year for this. Another time of year could be great for the feet and training. I call this bad training for not understanding the environment you are training in.

I live in Washington State we don't have to let the water run to create mud, LOL. I can see how in a desert like environment creating mud like that would be very beneficial. Some young horses may have never seen it before.
