A little history: my aunt in Mexico used to work for the UN promoting birth control around the world, about 40 years ago. Her time in the Philippines was brief: the first smaller sized town the group arrived in were greeted by a large crowd throwing stones lead by the local priest! Nobody at school believed me Monday when I shared all that information during recess until we got to 6th grade, and all the boys had to go to one room with the male teachers while all the girls and female teachers took over our desks. We went to lunch break after that then recess, 80% of my classmates looked like they were on a u boat towards Normandy beach after the talk, and for the remainder of the school year everyone decided I'd be the guy to ask about any reproductive questions. The weirdest part out of all of that though was going to church/Sunday school and being told I wasn't allowed to explain with scientific/medical terms how babies are made lmao. Personal story . My wife was a 23 year old virgin . She refused to have sex because she was afraid of pregnancy . Background : she is college educated and was a teacher herself. Yet no knowledge of how to prevent pregnancy. Same with her sisters. All of them educated. So we got together and we had the “talk” her parents did not . But even school did not teach her anything she said . Now of course she could learn with some google but in the PI the internet is only used for chat and pictures along with Facebook . Makes me sad no one has the “talk” . At least she declined sex with strangers so her preventative method was 100 % effective and to my benefit but for all the girls and boys with no knowledge and they just let nature take over … it leads to so many unwed pregnancies there . I hate to say even unwanted ones . In a Religious country we can just bring back chastity. Sure tourists won’t come for sex but is that really a bad thing ? I mean I went looking for a wife so I did not want the town bicycle but others have no interest in a wife just fun . So maybe again some return to values might not be a bad thing . We lost them as a country in the USA .

I've been married to my Filipina wife for almost 17 years. We did not have premarital sex and when we got married she was a virgin and knew little to nothing about sex. She has no interest in accomodating any aspect of sex. She is devout Catholic, and I feel like with the fear the church and her parents instilled in her while growing up has left her with a permanent aversion against sex. Fewer or no children is being pushed by the media entertainment academia the hardest in the white Christian nations. Why is a good question to be contemplating
@JohnnyLynnLee7 ай бұрын
There's nothing to do with 'Christian values." In fact, it's economics. It's NORMAL for a high income country like Sweden to have low fertility rates. It's what is expected. On the same token, t's NOT TRUE that having more babies will "produce more poor people". That's false. In fact with the growth rate the Philippines have that's GOOD, extremely GOOD, that they still have a demographic bonus compared to other countries in the region with similar growth rates like Vietnam. One of the few advantages compared to Vietnam in economic development, in fact. There's a couple of reasons why poor countries have mor children that I could get more into the details if needed.
@JohnnyLynnLee7 ай бұрын
And don't smile to Asians thinking they will reproduce more. First because that's repugnant. Second because that's not how it works. immigrants from poor countries with high fertility rate tend to have the same amount of children as the locals (contrary to myth). Because, of course, they are exposed t the same material conditions that lead to low fertility rates. It's not so much about "way of thinking", it's about concrete material conditions.

And if you can find it in yourself to do the work, please try to expand this to a national discussion. Apologies, as a man in the U.S. intruding- but it sounds like more discussion and education / information could dramatically strengthen (for want of a better word) your country. Hi Pea! One of the issues with chemical (pills) contraceptives is how they keep women menstrual cycle stopped at stage with higher testosterone levels. This can make women feel less feminine and behave more manly. One of the possible explanations for why men don’t find their local women attractive (high birth contraceptive use) but love Filipinas.

Hormonal birth control contains estrogen and/or progestin. They don't contain testosterone. Because of excess estrogen, they cause women to become fat. They are also used for women who have more testosterone in their body and suffer from acne, hirsutism etc.

Having lived in the province of Mindanao as a foreigner for many years I realised that religion is a major factor affecting Filipinos in many ways. Not just birth control but political issues as well. I come from a country where the catholic church was the ultimate ruler for generations. But since the church was involved in multiple serious sex abuse scandals they have now lost total control which resulted in my country not being misled and lied to anymore. Their doctrine does not fit into modern society. You will also find that the majority of most catholic countries are the poorest in the world.

@@TheFilipinaPea I'm sure 95% of the issue is education, however there is a view (especially for catholics) that life begins at fertilization, and therefore anything that prevents the pregnancy after that (like the pill) is an abortifacient. There are people in the US who are trying to use that idea to end contraception access, so contraception/abortion confusion isn't just in the Philippines, and sometimes it's intentional (although again for the Philippines, probably the lack of sexual education is probably the biggest reason for this)

Filipinos feel the same way I do about condoms. It's like taking a shower with a raincoat. I'd rather just be in a committed relationship and enjoy real sex. But I'm surprised to hear women say they don't like the feel since it affects men more. I also want to add that pulling out can be effective for people who don't want to use other forms of contraceptive. When practiced correctly it has a 4% failure rate based on one study. That's compared to a 2% failure rate with condoms. The belief of sperm is precum is a myth according to studies. These studies keep changing all the time so don't take my word for it. More than that even. There's a thing that is not true about economics said in the video. It's NOT TRUE that having more babies will "produce more poor people". That's false. In fact with the growth rate the Philippines have that's GOOD, extremely GOOD, that they still have a demographic bonus compared to other countries in the region with similar growth rates like Vietnam. One of the few advantages compared to Vietnam in economic development, in fact. They will feel HARD when they lose their demographic bonus if they still haven't reached the level of middle income country.

Please let us not push narratives or agendas on them to make them like other countries. Work on the educational part of sex in schools that way, the next generation could be more responsible,, BUT don’t force chemicals. That is ungodly and unnatural. The Philippines is a strong country with strong people and for the most part obedient to superiors so I Truly believe that the proper education will shift things to where it needs to be. Because taking birth control for TOO LONG Without the proper cycle of a on and off routine can very well have negative side effects on a woman’s body Including making it very difficult to conceive a child‼️ Filipina Pea, I love your channel and I know you love your country but please do not slip into accidentally pushing a westernized agenda on your people Thinking that you’re helping them. My Filipina wife and I were married when she was 52 and I was 60. She was pre- menopausal at the time. She had seven daughters with her mostly errant Filipino husband, who died in 1999 at the age of 34, or it could have been more! Due to no knowledge of sex and birth control, she became pregnant soon after turning 17. They were married in a ceremony with many other couples just two months or so later. Her husband was actually about two months younger than her. You know the story. A baby every two years until she was 31. A husband that often didn't work and played around with other women. She had to work hard to raise her daughters, and endured the loss of one as a baby (hole in the heart), and one at age seven, flattened by a ten wheeler dump truck directly in front of her family home. She never got the son she wanted. We had only been married for less than a year when she told me that she has never enjoyed sex, and didn't want to have sex anymore. It takes someone who really loves you and trusts you to be that honest. So, yeah, for us, no "tickle tickle"! Her hard life taught her to be independent, and to never give up. She has one grandson, five granddaughters, and one more grandchild on the way in August this year. Note the generational difference. I have an adult son and daughter in Australia, but no grandchildren there. My wife loves my son as if he was her own.

17:12 Maybe the pill doesn't sterilize women. But, like all drugs, it has a half-life(so the chemicals of the drug remain in your system for some time until they breakdown). And I believe there are also residual effects to the lining of the uterus (at the cellular level) that make it difficult (but not impossible) to conceive after being on the pill for extended periods of time, even after the chemicals have left the body. Anecdotally, my cousin had difficulty conceiving after being on the pill for several years. She was also in her mid 30's, but still, I believe the pills had something to do with her struggle with infertility(because I have aunts conceiving easily well into their 40's, never having used the pill). She eventually had a child after $50,000+ spent on a couple of rounds of IVF and a lot of tears and heartache. ...but I would not rely too heavily on the research done these days regarding the adverse effects of the pill, a lot of the research these days is funded (and thus distorted) by the pharmaceutical companies. And they are finding more and more ways to circumvent regulations. Companies are trying to say that disclosing the harms of their products (like the pill) is compelled speech, and therefore violates their 1st amendment rights. They feel they should be able to hide the adverse effects of their drugs. Google ---> "Corporations Are Weaponizing Free Speech To Wreck The World" The Philippines has a beautiful culture and people. There is no need for Filipinas to conform to western standards(specifically regarding birth control). Let them follow their traditions and be who they are....this is why men from around the world are coming to find wives in the Philippines. There is very little demand for western women. ...actually, the more westernized women of any country/culture become (thru 3rd wave feminism), the less desirable they will be to most men world wide.

You did a very good job getting Filipinas to talk about the mentality about birth control which is entrenched over decades. Filipinas suffer medically with dysmenorrhea and extremely painful cramps for 7 days which could easily be cured by taking the birth control pill. I have talked to many Filipinas about the birth control pill and it is like in the USA in the 1950's where young people were ostracized for using birth control and stared down in pharmacies when making the purchase. The spreading of myths in the Philippines and scare tactics is why the pregnancy rates are so high. Not using condoms is resulting in a very large increase in STDs which includes HIV.

That's nonsense. If someone cheats their wife just because of sex it only means that that man has an issue with his moral. Cheating has more to do with a personal character than a mere biological needs. Sex is necessary in marriage, yes, but it's not the soul of it, not the core issue. If a man cheat his wife just because they don't have enough Sex, then he's the one who has a moral issue. If you have problem with sexual life, you'd raise that issue with your partner and find a solution for that. Because if your wife is reluctant to have sex with you, that only means that you both have things to solve. Have the man ever take a look into the mirror and question himself why his wife has no mood to have sex with him anymore? Did he exhaust her? Why put the blame only on the woman? Did you disappoint her either physically or psychologically? Both is an issue, you know. Normal woman can't just have sex just for the sake of having sex. Women need affection and need to feel happiness. A woman can even fake orgasm just to make her man happy when their feeling is still precious to cherish, if the man is worth it to keep his face for. A woman can fake satisfaction when a man is worthy of it. So question your self if your woman is no longer willing to do it. But cheating is not an answer for a problem in a marriage. If you're an upright man, you'd ask for a divorce if you think you can't live with the circumstance in your marriage, instead of cheating and sleeping around outside. There's no justified excuse for cheating. Period.

Research has shown that hormonal birth control is a prime cause of obesity in women, unsexiness in their movements, picking the wrong partners, cottage cheese thighs (cellulite), narcissism, and bad health like breast cancer and blood clots. And more. In fact it even says so on the 10 page insert in the birth control box warning of all the myriad side effects. Morally, the Pill, shots and IUDs can cause early embryonic abortions. Not to mention bad feelings between partners due to the uneasy feelings of not being one flesh - the purpose of bonding, and promoting playboy and prostitute lifestyes.The Catholic Church is right.
