Let me clarify as an audience, the criticism for that line is not for the way she looks as a heroine, but for how she performs as an actor. Let’s not simply stereotype audience and assume they can’t perceive acting. Yes we are not actors, but we can sense good acting as audience. Let’s just not boil it down to looks and put the gun on audiences’ shoulders.

It's high time we all stop praising her for her 'intellectual' interviews and actually start talking about her acting. She should acknowledge the fact that she got good movie offers with her mediocre acting skills and she will keep getting more roles as she has somehow managed to stay in limelight, and there are people who actually work hard and give their best but unfortunately don't get the applause that they deserve. I am not blaming all privileged actors( I love the work of Ranbir, Shahid and Alia). There are many actors who don't come across as outspoken and intellectual in their interviews but still shine with their performance on screen, so we should really stop putting her on pedestal just because she speaks well.

It's obvious the way she is fangirling over Sara and Janhvi even before their debuts whereas she only interviewed people like Bhumi, Tapsee, Yami, etc after they delivered hits and proved themselves as actresses on merit alone. That difference in treatment by the industry, media, trade, public, etc and people like Anupama between star kids and outsiders is also nepotism and being a total outsider I am STILL SICK OF IT!!!
@honestindividual90244 жыл бұрын
Nikita Mohan thats some keen observation
@shilpakadam43304 жыл бұрын
Come on, the blame will circle back to audience. Media/Anupama interviewed them because there is an audience waiting to watch star kids and also they get paid for this. Star kids can afford to pay for these advertisements and outsiders mostly cannot. There have been rich outsiders as well like Ranveer Singh. They can afford all this like star kids.
@nikitamohan33904 жыл бұрын
@@shilpakadam4330 Don't try to justify Anupama's heavy bias! Kindly keep these pathetic, good for nothing excuses to yourself. You can't blame the audience for who and what the media, trade and the industry presents to them amd forces down their throat. When an outsider flops or does even an average performance, they are criticized brutally for it but if a star kid fails, most biased critics and media cover it up and sugarcoat the truth and try hard to make it look like the star kid did their absolute best. Take Love Aaj Kal for example, just like I predicted from the trailer, public and social media reaction was that the movie was extremely weak and the leads' performances were bad! But Bollywood and media who heavily favor star kids and don't really have a spine will still try to hype it up like Sara gave an Oscar worthy performance!!! 🙄😤 Whatever little positive change has happened in Bollywood like more female centric films and stronger roles for women is because of the audience.

@@nikitamohan3390 I would like to clarify that I am not an Anupama supporter. And it is a fact that there is a ready audience for star kids. It is a reality. Its not a troll, lady. It's called feedback. With no movie in your kitty which actually proliferates your acting prowess, you are justified to be in the light. It's not about being pretty either. I think it's safe to say that the hindi movie industry doesn't focus much on that anymore, almost. I personally feel that your choices have been purely pandering to movies which have female characters which are expendable, meaning anybody could have taken your shoes and would have done an equally good job. No movie has yet defined you. And your future choices are also leaning in that direction. It's imperative for an actor to choose characters which they feel heed the storyline a purpose, and you personally.

@lostnfound79774 жыл бұрын
No matter how amazing of a personality she is, she should in theory not be getting so many offers if she's a bad actor. Of course that logic flows out of the window when films want to cash in on her 'star' quality - lineage, social media presence, talk show appearances, advertisements, romantic linkups which make people curious about her. I mean, look at Arjun Kapoor. You would think bad actors are filtered out by the system but he's doing just fine despite his many flops. Nepotism or favouritism really help with longevity in Bollywood, especially for bad actors. This is why we have who we have in the industry, despite the many bad performances they gave. They got opportunities to improve and hone their skills (ex. Saif). Would an Ayushmaan or Rajkumar Rao have survived if they were not so business-savvy and didn't have the right instincts to choose scripts which work while also quenching their thirst for acting? Nope. It is what it is.
