@@angiect3791 I like him but she is right about ms. Mannequin. But then again I don’t think he’s ever said he’s a curly girl specialist. I do love the smell of his products, like the Wavetech foam. I don’t believe it will give everyone a wavy look though. I use it sometimes but only a few pumps. If I put as much in as he shows then my hair would be stiff as a board. I cannot fluff my roots with that much product lol!

Yeahhhhh I enjoy his videos as entertainment but he speaks with authority on curly hair when he really shouldn’t. He actually has said repeatedly that curly hair is coarser than straight hair - which is literally backwards! - and only styles Miss Manny Quinns with waves to sell his own products. Then there’s the whole “satisfying silk press” reactions and calling updos with natural texture “messy” and “way too much” in his bridal video. It bugs me when there is SO MUCH INFORMATION available on curly hair for free on the Internet and he hasn’t learned a thing. Also...no one should EVER have to use that much foam in their hair to get good results!!! Good grief!!

@@TheFitCurls I agree! My fine, low density waves could never hold that much product. I tried it once and it just felt so bad. The foam almost has a sound like shampoo suds. I can use a little bit if I want the smell but I’m not going to rush to buy it again.

I’m so glad I found your channel. I have hair like yours, easily takes a curl, fine but not thin. “Lots of trees in the forest” as one stylist told me. But I wouldn’t have known that it’s also high porosity if I didn’t take your test! I want to grow it out, as long as it’ll go (making up for all those years of short work haircuts). Any suggestions for curlies like me?

I’ve used that OGX coconut oil mist, it’s relatively lightweight for coconut oils but still waaayyyy too heavy for my fine hair!!!

@@TheFitCurls I have a complicated relationship with mouse and I had heard so many good things about their mouse so I tried it... It broke up all of my curl clumps and it dried ALL the moisture out of my hair... I swear it sits in my products I don't use drawer taunting me.

No, you are not alone! They are crap ass stylers and I'm blown away that so many people like it. I will say I'm a fan of ONLY their scalp cleansing oil/ clarifying shampoo. That works quite well. Everything else is a no go - especially that cream/mousse/gel.

Can you please do a video explaining a wash routine/schedule for using silicones. Water and non-water soluble. I've been silicone free for over 3 years, only because my hair did way better without them. But for the last 6 months there are products I've been dying to try with silicones but I havent purchased because I'm scared of buildup. I only wash my hair once or twice a week, so wondering if I need to use a SLS shampoo everytime or just once a month etc. Thank you.

Another great video! Do you do the stretch test on freshly washed wet hair or just wet hair? I was wondering if I do it on freshly washed hair would the results tell me which conditioner it needs moisture/protein? I have so much trouble with this.

That’s a great question! I would suggest wet hair rather than post-shampoo hair - after shampoo the cuticle is generally more raised and it lacks moisture, so it’ll be much less elastic. I would say test in the shower before you shampoo!

Nothing major. Just getting a nice shape with face framing layers. I've been cutting my own hair for 20 years now, after an unbelievably traumatic experience at a salon. Since it's curly, it's easy to make it at least "appear" even lol. But I haven't wanted to attempt layers on my own. But I also want their input as well.

Not gonna lie, I’m often very entertained by his videos!! But the authority with which he speaks on curly hair reeeeeally bothers me. Dude literally said “curly hair is coarser than straight hair” and....NO. NO IT ISNT.

I was just about to say " aren't you supposed to do that on wet hair?" Otherwise your hair may snap due to having "become dry" post wash and could still very well need protein. I learned this 1st hand. 😬 Tested dry hair, it snapped, I use protein every wash day, thought maybe my hair knew something I didn't when it snapped, next wash day went zero protein with moisture based products i knew my hair liked, and YIKES😬 Worst wash day EVER.
