Just as employees in a profitable tech giant receive higher compensation than those in an early-stage startup, NBA players can reasonably expect higher profit-sharing because the NBA generates significant revenue. The WNBA, on the other hand, functions more like a high-potential business that is still building its revenue base and establishing its brand. Asking for the same profit-sharing terms as the NBA doesn’t align with the current financials, as the WNBA’s revenue and profitability are lower. So basically, just as in the tech world, compensation models are set according to each business’s economic reality, aligning incentives with what’s financially sustainable and reflective of each league’s revenue. I’m not sure why this is so hard for the women players and fans to understand

"Revenue share" does not take into account operational expenses. We also must consider costs required to run the league (coaches, arenas, support staff, travel, etc.). The reason the NBA can even consider a 50% revenue share is due to the fact that there is so much net revenue after covering operational expenses, that the league can afford the high payoff. So, the WNBA either needs to obtain more revenue and/or lower operational expenses so that there is net revenue left to split INSTEAD of a massive deficit and bill that the NBA has to foot.

It's really simple. The WNBA can't be profitable as it is currently structured. It costs the same to run the a/c and lights for a WNBA game and an NBA game, but you only have about 10% of the paying customers. The TV deal brings in a fraction of what the NBA does. This is the problem. None of these women have any idea about business. In any real world situation, they'd be out of business. Without Clark, they're not doing this. It's very simple. This is the #1 season in WNBA history for points per game generated on scoring and assists combined. She is already among the best offensive players in league history, as a ROOKIE. Two words: Caitlyn Clark. WNBA was losing $10 million a year prior to CC coming to the league. WNBA increased it's spending by $50 million for chartered flights. Net loss expected $60 million dollars. The fact that they only lost $40 million this year is due to CC, losing $20 million less than they were expecting. Right now the WNBA is under leveraged due to CC's popularity. They did get a new TV deal; however, it is WAY less than they should be getting with the CC ratings bump and takes effect RIGHT after the next season. Perfect timing for the players to opt out and get more for themselves. They also have a few big names coming out of college the next few years. Time is ripe for the WNBA to blossom and any failure to due so will be on the league. Players should absolutely be getting a big pay raise in line with this blossoming even if the NBA/WNBA under leveraged the coming boom in popularity.

All i see is Wnba and players that bullied caitlyn on and off the court trying to take credit and cashing on the back of caitlyns success. What bunch of toxic lot they are.
