This was great thank you. Gives me a good idea of what’s on trend. There’s something here for everyone including me, a 71 year old, who rarely gets to visit the shops. Many thanks!

I realise everything I made over the summer had bold prints. Now I am actually looking forward to making some neutrals and knits. That said, those moody florals look lovely.

Very, retro feel to the trends this winter. The & Other Stories tweed jacket, is very like one I made myself back in the late 80s worn with longer skirts and riding style boots. What goes around comes around. Love deep greens trend though.

I love that Ormond Coat! I’m definitely not experienced enough to make a coat yet (and I appreciate the little note on the site about Style Arc patterns being harder to follow), but I will put that one on my wish list and hopefully get to it one day! Thanks for all the work you put into this video!

Thank you so much for these videos Kate. Interesting to see that the trends are more subdued (I've noticed the same reading Who What Wear). I guess it's in line with a more responsible way of shopping and dressing that more subtle trends don't date so readily, although part of me misses the excitement of the more extreme trends (although they're mostly a spectator sport for me anyway 😊). The beauty of making your own though- if you're finding current trends boring you can make something else!
@TheFoldLine Жыл бұрын
ahh thank you! Yes totally agree about responsible shopping and as you say we have the power to make whatever we fancy!

Hi Kate. Do yall have a segment where you help someone find patterns based on a design element? For example im interested in patterns with sleebes that are shaped via tucks and darts rather than gathering..... would love to see your picks!! This episode was great. Now i want to make a knitted bomber with buttons!

Don’t understand the idea behind dark colours for winter and light for summer. We are light years beyond not being able to wash and dry clothes in inclement weather. In the past this was one of the reasons for wearing dark colours - dark clothes don’t show the dirt. Let’s banish the stupid seasonal colour theme!
@louloureads3953 Жыл бұрын
I still find it hard to get clothes dry in winter (in a fairly cold flat with no outside space) - especially with the bills having gone up so much, I do laundry less frequently and spot clean more. I bet I’m not the only one and I appreciate darker clothes for that!
