I think it is possible as a one-off hour show. The men meet up on a fishing trip and while waiting endlessly for a nibble on the line ,they reminisce and laugh at the highlights of the series. They cadge lifts off Barbara and Cheryl with a few stories wound around that. Dense is off doing something dipsey - can't be seen cos of a debacle bleaching her hair which is green and coming out in handfuls . Barbara is off to see her cousin in Middleton. And Cheryl gets duped into running errands for the guys ( Jim, Anthony & David & Joe ) to get more bait or food etc Nana & Mary are mentioned in the memories but not Twiggy or Denise as the former do die as part of the storyline. I really think it could be done. Jim & Antony have their usual tussle over who knows how to fish & bozo Dave can't do anything right. Oh yes & Joe ! He's happy ! Just Staring at the water for hours ! Think it would be rather nice. Life does carry on whether we like it or not !! Might as well take a peek.

@@gbmruk123Never say never. I'm hoping against hope. Wishful thinking, that maybe, the creators of this show, will one day phone up the actors and actresses, and possibly ask them to do a few one-off episodes. Like I said, I'm just wishful thinking. I just would like to see how the characters lives developed, as they got older.

Every time I watch this sweet series, I feel like I'm actually sitting in their living room, and they don't see me, and it amazes me every time, what acting talent everyone has there, and what a great gift it is to be an actor. I know of three actors who, unfortunately are no longer with us. Blessed is their memory.

I always come back to Nana's death. It makes me cry everytime with the music and everyone rushing into the hospital. My mum and nan (her mum) were really close but my nan and my dad had a turbulent relationship much like in this show, they did have love for each other but they were very stubborn people. I was very little when my nan died but I when I saw this show even though that wasn't how my nan went it just struck a chord because it felt like closure, I could see my nan and relate to it. I don't think I will ever fully process it because I was too young to get the closure I needed but this helps

For me The Royle Family is the perfect time capsule of working class family life in Britain in the 90's. I even loved the silence between dialogue where everyone is just paying attention to the TV, it just made it seem as real as possible and takes me back to my youth where I really related to Anthony as I was the youngest and always called a lazy get too. I hope Caroline left this world knowing she will be remembered and loved for generations to come who will discover this perfect distillation of a moment in time
