Hi Jake...thanks a lot for rebuilding Gixxer Brah's bike...I'd just always assumed that he was having it regularly tuned & maintained @ his buddy's shop--since he lives close by to it, & he seems to drop it off there a lot...actually, I am completely shocked at its state of complete disrepair--especially considering how hard he pushes it on so many of his rides (at least the ones he posts on KZbin)...I know you'll do great job on it!

I really like your reactions to this bike, I've felt the same working on friends bikes a ton! WD-40 is amazing as a degreaser, it's mostly Kerosene and fish oil so it smells nicer than any other degreaser too (In a closed garage this really matters), it's the best thing I have found for removing old chain lube.

Reminds me of one of the last Buells I picked up. Rear motor mounts was cracked in half in two places (how?!), rear shock was cut on purpose by the owner to lower it but never put back together right so it just fell apart when the tension was released. All the electrical was just twisted together and taped. Forks were leaking and caps mangled for some reason. Exhaust can was missing its mounting bolts (huge no, no on Buells as you'll almost instantly crack the headers) plus a lot more. Some people shouldn't work on bikes. Worst thing was I asked the guy if it was ok to ride home 2 hours before I showed up and he was like "Ya! Its great" Glad I ended up bringing the truck instead.
