General Surgery, Major Faffing | Project Hospital - Part 22 (Hospital Simulator Game)

Project Hospital continues and we build ourselves a brand new General Surgery department! It's up on our second floor close to the new x-ray machines so it's nice and easy to access from the main reception of the hospital.
There's quite a bit of planning, by which I mean faffing about! We outline where the corridors are going to, we place the wards, then we get the clinic rooms all planned. There's a wonderful moment where the operating lounges fit perfectly in the space we have.
We of course have to get the clinic in first so we work on that, setting up a very nice reception right in front of the elevator, making a nice little waiting area and then getting the Doctor offices put together. Then we get to make a wonderful trip to the Wheel of Names to get the names of all sorts of new staff members!
The video is quite focused on the new department but we do manage to do a little bit of work elsewhere, adding a little miniature burns unit just so we can have some extra beds.

Tutorial levels will guide your through the basics of treating patients and running hospitals.
Sandbox mode offers endless hours of content, building anything from small clinics to huge multi-storey hospitals, starting from scratch or in one of pre-built hospitals or clinics in case you want to jump straight into management. Run you own ambulance service and help handle events and emergencies.
The campaign will put you in the shoes of a crisis manager trying to save a few hospitals in critical state.
6 challenge levels will test your skills and let you focus on the intricate details of individual specialized departments.

Right above the ambulances you could connect the two wings of the building with a kinda floating bridge corridor sort of thingy, build a fancy cafeTEArea with tons of windows and call it "The High Tea".

Hi Penge, just wanted to finally say 'thank you', for all you do and do not do. I've been watching your videos for years now. Recently I've found myself getting quite irritated at things you might miss or could be doing better across your various play-throughs, but then this one above comes along and reminds me why I've remained a devoted subscriber. Don't get me wrong, there are STILL things that you do or do not do that simply make me shout out loud at the inanimate TV I am watching at that moment :P But then this video comes along, and right about the 14:30 mark and beyond, the simple joy of a grown man's 'inner child' comes out, completely spontaneous... perfection! Not in a planning way, or anywhere near a game min-max'ing way, but simply for why we should play games at all -- to experience joy and fun while maybe learning a bit on the side. So again, thank you for all you do and do not do, and you keep being YOU -- I'll be watching

thought…what about moving all of Radiology to the same floor (2nd). This would free up those spaces for clinic spaces on your 1st floor. Maybe even some of your hospitalization areas could even move to upper floors as well to free up more space for clinics on the 1st floor.

It's a good thought but moving stuff around is just too much of a faff in this game. You have to unassign people and you can't move items if they're in use so you have to wait for things like chairs or equipment to be idle, I think it might be my biggest issue with the game. So yes, we COULD move stuff about, but I can't be doing with hassle!

I way enjoy this series and content! You are supposed to completely fast fer around 12 hours before a medical surgery, no juice,tea or snacks in waiting room. Intern is still on the loose.

General surgery is a bit deceptively named, it's more like a GP surgery than a department that focuses on operations. They deal with miscellaneous stuff that doesn't match the other departments.

penge......in the area of the foundation of the first floor that you built early in this video near the pharmacy........YOU NEED A CAFETERIA......you mentioned building 1 early in the series but you have yet to build one.......that area is perfect for the CAFETERIA.........$$$$ moneyCAFE $$$$ ........a place to get TEA AND CAKE

You can use second option (square)to build walls, it will paint all side inside square, great tool !
