I always preferred Godzilla Saves the Earth over Unleashed. Doesn't help that they gutted a good chunk of the roster for PS2 which is probably 90% of the reason to move on to Unleashed (we did get Battra though)

Dude, I remember getting that monster book years ago at the clearance section at my local book store! Even when I got it so long ago I definitely found a lot of the illustrations it to be pretty ugly. All these years later I still own it, along with one for sea creatures which I had years before I found the monster one. I also had one for dinosaurs that I loved! you're g-fan backstory is startlingly similar to mine, i don't quite know the vary first kaiju film i saw, but the first true godzilla film i remember watching was also mothra vs godzilla, i may have seen godzilla vs destroyah first, but it also could have been a heisei gamera film, maybe guardian of the universe, but in-between those two i remember seeing 20 million miles to earth, clash of the titans, and the seventh voyage of Sinbad, so yimr the kraken the cyclops and others are the oldest kaiju i remember.
