Tom, one of the treasures of lovely little Wales, land of song, where the men are men and the women are glad of it. The miners would sing even after the hard graft down the pit, the soldiers would sing when facing attack by thousands, the rugby crowds sing, the mountain goats sing, my dog Bryn would throw back his head and we would sing our hearts out together.

I grew up with these sounds coming via the BBC ..... took them for granted as a youngster ..... but it's only now, fully 55 years later I appreciate what an extraordinary flowering of British music happened from the early 1960s for the next 15 years or so. This performance is superlative .... he's handsome, has sex appeal by the tonne and his live vocal is almost operatic in it's volume and control: he's telling a story here and he seems to feel every single damned word and note. And by God it's LIVE, not a mime job.

As previously mentioned, Tom is a coach on the UK version of "The Voice". He recently turned his chair for the son of the guy that wrote this song for him so many years ago. I’m a trained singer. Love watching reviews from someone who understands the vibrato, crispness and tone. I have given many lessons and I’m not sure I have seen many with that power….and it is perfectly controlled power. Outstanding. So……strong. Wow. Wonderful. I liked watching your expression when he hit some of those.

Feels like he is singing RIGHT to you and that you have caused his pain. He is from Wales and has a naturally powerful, totally untrained, never a lesson voice. 81 and still belting them out. I saw him in concert in 1975...oh, my God...a totally surreal experience.....he looks and sounds great on film but unless you could see the sweat flying off his forehead...omg...it was the closest thing to a sexual experience that was not real sex that has ever happened to me in my 74 years...no wonder all of the women at the concert, teenagers to women in their 60’s, were up standing on their chairs screaming, throwing panties and hotel keys at him while he was singing on stage. Review more of Sir Tom Jones.

The song was written by Lonnie Donegan , now Lonnie son was on The Voice UK Sir Tom realises that his dad was Lonnie Donegan he says to the young man do you this song. He say do you want to sing it with me, so Sir Tom stands upthere and then this song with Lonnie Donegan son it is on KZbin probably on The Voice UK if you can find its worth a listen.( its on the voice UK Sir Tom Jones and Peter Donegan sing I'll Never Fall in Love Again blind audition )

I'll Never Fall Inlove, Green Grass of Home, Delilah were my repertoire. Afrer some time I've drifted away from him and moved to other music. In recent years I've rediscovered him and I can say I have a really deep respect for him. Rock, metal, prog guy speaking.... When Tom walked on to any stage be it TV, Theatre or the Club circuit in UK back then he just had that 'SWAGGER'. He had that 'something'. Back then there would be an orchestra and a musical director and for quite a number of years in the late 60's and 70's it was Johnny Spence who was a well known musical director from England. i recommend you look at Tom on video singing TREAT HER RIGHT OMG Back then you had no HORRIBLE AUTOTUNE or any backing tracks. I have a small collection of vinyl albums passed down from my late parents. I have one called Tom Jones LIVE at the Talk of The Town 1967. I recommend you listen to the album now -i know it wont be an original sound from over 50 years ago but you will get a feel for the songs. Tom and his voice - OH BUT IT IS A WELSH THING

Atfer their Vegas shows Tom and Elvis used to sit up all night singing gospel songs. Not a surprise that he picked up some Elvis mannerisms.

You mentioned of Elvis, he and Tom were at same hotel in Vegas. They got to know each other while being there. Tom and Elvis became close friends until Elvis' death in 1977.

The Goldschool Soul Elvis Presley said of Tom Jones the he (Tom Jones) had the best voice he (Elvis) had ever heard. They bith had a deep respect for wach other, basically a bromance going.

I’ve just re-discovered Tom Jones again. Tom had a great grounding in singing with Welsh men’s miner choirs. The Welsh coal miner choirs also had a huge impact on a Hungarian composer named Zoltan Koldaly. He visited Wales to understand how untrained men could sing intervals with such perfection. Especially widely spaced intervals.Today we call the method Koldaly solfeggi, and it is taught in most music schools as a method of training students how to recognize, and sing intervals. But I digress. Back in the sixties when Tom was singing in Las Vegas women would routinely throw their hotel keys wrapped in their underwear on his stage. Incredible, but that’s the effect his voice had. Great looking dude too. Whenever Elvis Presley was playing Vegas, he would watch Tom’s shows with interest and they developed a lasting friendship. Elvis thought of Tom as a younger brother who needed his mentoring. Thanks once again for reminding me of how great he was, and still is.

RE: "This. is. beautiful. And - he is handsome." ... Y. E. S. It is. And - HE IS. The former stunningly, the latter most emphatically. He's definitely hot! He always makes you want more... so, you mustn't stop with one song, or one decade. Check performances of his over the years. He is incredible, charismatic, sexy, and soulful, and his voice, which has become deeper and richer through time, has not lost its power! Often commenters suggest reactions to videos of the same early performances of his most popular, top-selling, most widely known first hits (e.g., It's Not Unusual; Delilah; Green, Green Grass of Home) to sample. Some reacters will see how many times a song is requested in order to see what they should react to, but there is so much to this great singer/ entertainer and his work. Why not pick something with Tom Jones that's not been done as much by other reactors? There are so many performances on KZbin... things from his show "This Is Tom Jones," of course, but also songs from many TV specials, his sold-out concerts from all over the world, performances at intimate venues, spots on late night TV, duets with big-name singers and bands. You can't go wrong. Try any of the songs below, and you can find many more that would be wonderful for reaction videos.... Two 1969 performances... "Long Time Gone" with band CSNY: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnqnq3RmjqmmpZo and "What'd I Say": kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpOqnZWhn85mmbs Then from 1970, his catchy and pretty popular "Help Yourself": kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6ubnn5vp7l5mqc and his powerful solo "I Who Have Nothing": kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2m0Zammep53d9U From 1974, "Danny Boy" (done on The Midnight Special): kzbin.info/www/bejne/iITGg4ycr66tmLs From 1978, "Have You Ever Been Lonely" medley at The Warner Theatre, D.C: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXbGqaSKh7t9f8U From 1986, a reprise of his first hit, "It's Not Unusual" (0:00 to 02:30 on late night TV): kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJjboKJtqsufh9U From 1991, "Carrying A Torch" (from a collab session with the great Van Morrison): kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpbPkoKph5uBprM From 2005, "It's A Long Way To The Top [If You Want To Rock And Roll]" in concert with Australian legend John Farnham: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2LSZZ14nL90p5Y From 2011 (by now Sir Tom Jones, and quite a silver fox) from a special with Hugh Laurie on piano, "Baby, Please Make A Change," prefaced with Tom's brief intro mentioning how he loves all types of music, then going in to sing with a small group of musicians: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nH62qXmZos6BfcU From 2021 (Sir Tom Jones as coach on The Voice UK, in an impromptu performance when the Zoom audience started clamoring for him to sing), "Cry To Me": kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4qmZqStmtCHY8k From 2021 (video of one of his songs from his brand new No.1 album on the UK album charts), "No Hole In My Head": kzbin.info/www/bejne/pX-Vq4Bursekg9k And back all the way to 1965 for "Autumn Leaves," a classic song he does with a soft and wistful smokiness in his voice: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX-0pYiCbd1glZo Tom can sing ANYTHING and make it his own... rock, pop, R&B, blues, soul, jazz, folk rock, country, disco, gospel, rap, reggae, Broadway, movie soundtracks, anything... ballads sweet and melodic to ones electric with emotion and power; captivating songs where he tells a story, delivering the lyrics with such expression and movement; uptempo songs full of cadence and infectious in beat, with him busting moves that thrill; and songs that are gritty, raspy, and raw, as well as ones silky smooth, sensual, and soulful.
