My wife and I saw Tom Jones live in Las Vegas in 1973. Knowing he had one of the most powerful voices ever, we were blown away that he performed more than 30 songs during his two hour plus show, and yet he was just as powerful and clear at the end as was when he started. Truly was one the best performances we had ever seen from any singer. At the end, the ladies were flinging their bras, panties, and flowers onto the stage.

@Hansy The 60s, 70's, and 80's was the greatest era of music. It was like every talented singer and musician in the world converged to display their awesome talents during that period of time. I suggest that you explore the music of that era of the many great bands and solo artists which frankly just does not exist today.

I'm an old guitarist, 73 years old. This performance by Tom Jones is sill the most powerful vocal performance by a male singer that I've ever heard to this day. I thought Jones was a more powerful and more "manly" singer than Elvis. There are no singers like that today. I find that sad. By the way, this song sort of explains why women threw their panties and hotel keys on stage when he appeared. Look up the Tom Jones Show. He speaks some Welsh at the end of each show.

ya you totally get it, darling. like you said, the moment he starts singing he just radiates uncompromised masculine power and confidence, and you just know this is gonna be great. the way he attacks a note at full power and hits it pitch-perfect-- that is something many opera singers cannot do. many singers stand like they're giving a lecture, but tom jones has more of a fighter's stance, drawing power from the floor, bring it up to his diaphragm, and it rises from there flowing into all kinds of tonality and dynamic expression. he's an awesome ladies man and a consummate vocal artist the likes of which we will never see again

Hey gorgeous this is my first time watching your reaction which I can honestly say I love because it was true and full of meaning. What you saw was one of the best solo performers since Elvis Presley. This man did not need a microphone his voice was so strong so powerful and yet so loving you know when they teach you in vocal School to sing from your gut and he did that all the time with ease no no strength at all it was just natural to him and don't forget he's been singing since he was 8 years old. Another product of gospel from Wales as Elvis Presley was from gospel from Tennessee they were in Las Vegas together I do believe back in 1973. I grew up listening to Tom Jones I basically didn't have a choice because my mom controlled what we call the record player back then and I first heard his biggest hit at the time was It's Not Unusual back in 1965 and I was hooked. His voice reached me in so many ways you can never imagine and I'm a man speaking to you. 60 years later and he's still going amazing unfortunately his wife just passed away and on the UK voice he did a special song for her which I don't want to listen to because I'll probably break down. But one of his most fantastic I would say one of his most touching Tunes it's called Green Green Grass of Home. But I believe that all his music is top 10. Never played an instrument never wrote any of his music. But what a talent and a voice like his he didn't have to and neither did Elvis Presley write any of his music. But hey they didn't have to with voices like theirs it was written in stone. I'm glad you appreciated the music because it only goes to show that you have feelings. So many people over the years try to emulate imitate and perform Elvis Presley and Tom Jones and some are good but as they would say you can't beat the real thing. And upset I enjoyed you I enjoyed your reaction keep it up I'm a fan unfortunately I can't subscribe. I don't know where my funds are coming from day to day. Billboard Magazine rated this as the 2nd greatest live performance of the 1960's ( behind The Righteous brothers Bobby Hatfield singing, ' Unchained Melody ' on the Andy Williams Show at # 1. ) Jones, like Bob by Hatfield was nicknamed, ' 1-take Tom ' because he always nailed it on the 1st take, whether it was in the studio or when he sang a song live like this that was being recorded. Btw, Jones NEVER had a vocal lesson. Keep in mind, in the 1960's, there was NO autotune. Jones killed it EVERY time he sang

You should react to Tom Jones and Janis Joplin singing her song Raise Your Hand from his TV show. It's incredible to hear them together!

Tom Jones was underrated for the day because of big names (The Beatles, etc.) that were popular at the same time. But his voice was truly one of the very best ever. Check out some of his other songs, like "Delilah", "Without Love", and "I Who Have Nothing" (you’ll be glad you did). You may want to also do some reaction videos on Engelbert Humperdinck, another gentleman with an incredible voice that was popular around the same time as Tom.

Well, he was hardly "underrated" 🙄 He was massively successful, had a string of big hits, had a very successful tv show, was widely respected and loved, etc...

He had to work in the shadow of Tom a bit but still a magnificent singer. Another , of course, was Frankie Vaughan.

Tom Jones one of the greatest Male Singers of the 60s and 70s ever and he is still singing at his older generations and still moving women's hearts he has such great Charisma Schnell. Strongest vocals of any male singer ever. Great Review . Give a listen to also the Righteous Brothers, another great duo ever singing. You won't be disappointed I promise . Best Wishes for your great musical reviews.😘

I loved watching your reaction to this video because it reminded me of the first time I saw this video. I grew up listening to Tom Jones because one of my older sisters used to listen to his albums while she was getting ready for work. After watching this performance I contacted him on his Facebook page and he actually hit me back asking how long had I been listening to his music etc. Then he called me on Messenger to have a video chat with me, but I missed his call. I think that I would have been too nervous to answer. I probably would have fainted the moment I heard his voice because I love that Welsh accent and the tone of his voice whether he's talking or singing! 😅

that song was written by Lonnie Donegan who was a well known singer in England himself which came to light on the Voice UK when Lonnie's son Peter was a contestant and Tom was the sole coach to turn for him. So when Peter introduced himself Tom asks him if he is any relation to Lonnie Donegan and Peter says "that's my Dad" and Sir Tom answers with " no - - not really " shocked that this is his old friend's son. Tom and Lonnie actually did play out together and of course Lonnie had written Tom's big hit I'll Never Fall In Love Again for him so Tom asks Peter if he knows the song and the Peter and Tom do an impromptu concert together - - if you use Peter Donegan its easy to find on You Tube

They did an amazing duet. Peter Donegan was smart enough to let Tom do most of the singing and then sang harmony on the last. It was a wonderful musical moment.

Your reaction is so raw, emotional and one experienced by many women over the years. He's got soul, rhythm, class, and cool, and the one of the most incredible, powerful and unique voices in the world.

Schnell got twitterpated!! Tom said, once in an interview, "I don't get flowers. What litters my stage is panties and room keys." How sad for him... Fantastic voice. Lots of charisma. Many ladies through the years have swooned.

I used to think Tom was a bland non threatening radio freindly ballard singer. But i got bitchslapped. This is the best live vocal performance i have ever heard

Lol…Schnell….meet Tom Jones….remember watching this when it first came on the air in the 60’s. My mother was in love with him. She reacted to him the same way you did. He truly is a living legend. Unbelievable voice…

Yours is to me the most lovely reaction to this stunning rendition of the BEST male singer ever. You're all too aware of the power, masculinity, sensitivity and harmony of this Legend's voice. Congratulations.

@Schnell Jordan - thank you very much for your reaction! I really love Tom Jones and have so many memories about his songs. Even more impressive is the blind audition of "the voice" in 2018 when Tom sang the song again with Peter, the son of Lonnie Donegan, who wrote this song for Tom Jones. Tom proves in the audition that he still does have his magic voice. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4TSoZSqp5t0pac
