The Dragons' Den: Inside Wales Camp

This week Elma’s said ‘toodlepip’ to Scaz & Mo, as she’s crossed the Severn Bridge to the beating heart of Welsh Rugby, somewhere two Red Roses would not be welcomed with open arms - especially not ahead of a Wales England match up in the Six Nations… Head Coach Ioan Cunningham shows Elma around the Elite Training Centre at The Vale Resort, where both Welsh international sides call home. She gets a behind the scenes look at all the state of the art facilities including the cryo chamber, the judo zone, and the team room to see where Wales have built their first couple of victories in the Six Nations. Scrum half Ffion Lewis, hooker Kelsey Jones & centre Kerin Lake also drop by for a chat in Elma’s makeshift studio on the indoor pitch to spill all the tea about life in camp, the girls’ journey to the big time, and the Welsh passion for singing.

Brilliant to see, and hear, how the Welsh team has really embraced going professional. The step-by-step improvements are coming to fruition this season. Next World Cup, and Six Nations, should be where they truly show they can be a force to be reckoned with. And I say all this as an Englishman and Red Roses fan

Elma, that was great . I really enjoyed the content and hearing/ seeing how far the Welsh team has come . The stories that were shared, the laughter and banter and I was particularly interested in the feedback from the RWC21 - fronting the haka with a predominantly kiwi crowd roaring from the stands…its a real experience .😊

its good to see Wales doing something right on a rugby pitch. We need a good home nations be it men or women or we'll never beat these buggers from the southern hemisphere (sorry Elma). Good to see Ffion mention her roots at Straddy park ... I was saddened to see how that is now when you think of the Llanelli greats beating the All Black ... I'm old enough to remember that. I look forward to seeing you girls play at Welford Road when Tigers Ladies get promoted. 🐯🌹
