And yet, May's garage is filled by Ferraris. It's not sportscar are meaningless, it's that you are eager to rationalize the fact you can't afford one, like everybody else. Also GT cars are for long motorway trips. And impress girls. Go to a nightclub in Dusseldorf downtown, pick up a model and drive her to Montecarlo. You will find the rusty Renault quite lacking, in compare with the Bentley.

The traffic dictates the travel time and not the car type or driving style. Even if you attempt to drive like a speed freak and over take at every opportunity the travel time is ALWAYS pretty much the same. I love the superposition of a high production car show with relatable problems like driving on crappy roads and being stuck in traffic
@emiliospowerballer14413 жыл бұрын
But people buy fast cars to drive then fast. If you live in the mountain and your village is like this, which actually reminds me of Sicily, then an Aston Martin would be useless and nightmare to live with. The point here is that you buy a car for your needs, not for what your bank account affords. One can't also drive this Citroen off road, so why even buy a Citroen to go off road. Its simple, you buy what you need.
@sandorbence20673 жыл бұрын
Well who really cares how these super expensive cars drive? If you have the money to buy you can try all and if you don't it is not dor you anyway. Same with hypercars, they can throw the usual metrics at you (power, 0-60, top speed etc) but you won't knoe what it feels like unless you try. And most people eill never try. That's why Iike these type of videos better rather than some guy just babbling about 20 minutes how great it is. Also why I like videos like Doug makes, more interesting to see the finer details and interesting/strange ideas in these cars.
@davidcolin65192 жыл бұрын
@@emiliospowerballer1441 And thus you demonstrate that you completely and totally missed the point. It is not that "You buy what you need" it is that supercars are only barely quicker than a crapped out old Renault, that a supercar is just as prone to getting stuck behind trucks and other vehicles. I mean, FFS, it was explicitly pointed out in the video! Unfortunately, very few people really do buy the car of their needs. You only need to drive around almost any English village or town to see the number of expensive cars parked outside crappy houses because the owners believe that their cars are some sort of pointer to their personal character, rather than a demonstration that they are incapable of basic critical thinking.
@emiliospowerballer14412 жыл бұрын
@@davidcolin6519 And thus why I said 'buy what you need'. All cars face the problems you just described, whether they be a 20 year old Renault or a brand new Ferrari. VERY rough on the suspension, they are, so most people have 4x4s, but it doesn't do much anyway. And even so, knowing all this, this man got himself a Viper. His reasoning being that people would get sick of the roads soon and we'd get normal roads. Poor sap can't even use his car on weekends because his car is just too low and going anywhere with it means having to either scratch his car to hell and back, or go impossibly slow.
