I think that might be changed now, as I think nurglings have been used as familiars by stronger sorcerers of Nurgle. The Muse of Slannesh does seem to be closer to a nurgling than a bubo in power, which may have lead to the bubo being discarded.

I really enjoyed this, thanks! It frustrates me that out of all of the factions from various Warhammer games that have a boat load of different miniatures available for, more than any other, it should be Daemons of Chaos!

The Viydagg in WFRP 4th - Archives of Empire were portrayed a bit more as nature spirits than daemons. It was cool seeing them back again.

I think that early on Daemon was used as the term for all spirits that weren't dead/undead, so it's likely that the 'Daemons of Law' will be renamed as spirits if they are reintroduced or revised.

I feel like the "balrook" should be greater daemons of hashut K'dai are fine, but they're daemon engines. Hashut being a god of faustian deals fits with the results of his deals with the dawi zharr

In 3e Balrogs were renamed to Balgrogs. Oh, right as I typed it, he covered it.

The Titans, the Mardagg were miniatures before they had lore - it seemed the lore was added to help sell these figures, they were poor sellers and the lore was added to move them - think viydagg and mabrothrax were in the same boat but not sure about them. You can see the death elemental in lots of old citadel sales sheets from the time and was often on there Black Sun sale sheets you got back in the day when you mail ordered you figures. The Titans were from the old first plastic figures citadel made - these were really big but did not sell, and the lore was added to try to make them sell ( dont think it worked )

mabrothrax was C29 (MO-14) Plague Elemental, viydagg is C34 Life Elemental and Mardagg was C34 Death Elemental from the 80s, they had these figures in there range for most of the 80s and the figures were made long before the lore - that was added to help sell them. The Titans were from the Citadel's Fighting Fantasy range that did not sell, they were made in to Titans to try to help sales there was a chaos warrior version as well, there were Dwarfs, orcs and other stuff in this range but it was all 60mm in scale - hence they were made in to sort of giants. The 2 early demon models that should have got lore were C28 (GD-01)Death Demon / Creeping Demon Lord and C34 (02) Chaos Demon (1) both really cool old metal figures ( think i still have one of them)

I still have an old plague elemental citadel model kicking about in the loft and old Kaleb Daark model who followed Malal, I wish they had continued the Malal idea. The model was a great one as well, I was kinda of looking forward to seeing more of them.

No, he's the empires patron god and his domains are broadly civilization and smithing and war* if I recall Gods of law in Warhammer are more like...gods if absolute concepts, like purity of purpose, perfection of form, stuff like that which makes them dangerous to worship.

By the old definition no, the gods of law were as dangerous as the gods of chaos but they'd make you unchanging lawful statues instead of mutating you into mindless spawn, etc. With what's happened to Soltan and the like, Sigmar might be Law aligned and connected to the Gods of Law, but the fact he was once mortal and ascended would still mark him as separate from Soltan etc to some degree.

I have always found ridiculous that all the chaos gods are evil when they are supposed to be born from mortal emotions. So sure, some are bound to be harmful but how come there is no chaos gods that represent justice, love, etc?
