The land ship is kind of funny to me because it makes me think of someone being asked to design a ship only to find that their design is not sea worthy and deciding to put wheels on it to salvage the idea. I can imagine when asked they would claim that they did build a ship like asked.

If what I have read is correct, the actual story is that Marienburg wanted some steamtanks, but Nuln couldn't work out hwo to make the small enough boiler to power it, so one guy decided why not stick a bigger boiler on a bigger thing, and of course Marienburg likes ships so we should make it a ship. Now this exists

I can imagine that the Dwarfs might have them due to how good with technology they are but I am not sure if the Dwarfs would be interested in such things.

Hey guys, i just wanted to say that im so proud and happy for the team at The Great Book of Grudges, I loved warhammer growing up and when i came across lore videos it was hard to find them, and if you did then people kind of just talked through it, but instead The Great Book of Grudges team actually takes the time to explain everything, they narrate with passion, and ive been following your content for years and i remember saying you guys were gonna blow up and in a few short years you guys did and i just wanna say thank you, you guy deserve it and most of all i love the way you this team portrays the lore with so much passion, and detail. its amazing.

Kinda funny how every gun unit gets massive bonuses from Elspeth. Exploding ammunition for gunners! Stalk and snipe for mortars! Hellblaster projectiles pierce entire formations! Three more rockets for the rocket battery! Exploding ammo and self-heal for steamtanks! Melee reflection for the Landship! And by the way, artillery volleys spawn black suns now! And then there is Malakai in the corner, happy that his Gyrocopters at least get a little missle block chance xD

Yeah, Elspeth has consistently been one of my favourite lords to play with Mixu. Glad to see her getting a proper faction. Probably gonna be my first campaign with the DLC.

The Gardens of Morr looks fantastic and it is exactly the type of system that the Lizardmen have needed since game 2. Protecting the empire is a lot more interesting than simply painting the map red indiscriminately.

Really cool so far. All the units look great and the selection is nice. Same for Tamurkhan and Malakai btw. They could have leaned a bit more into her habit of collecting and hoarding magic items, but that's essentially it. (Just wait for me being proven wrong when there is pop ups for events granting you nice things...)

For the empire it feel like whe got nothing that new. Some more cavalry, a reskined steamtank that fill exactly the same purpose as the other so we will always recruit one or the other. Better handgunners. Only exception is the enginer and the Hochland longrifles but all others units are...meh. I'm mixed for marienburg landship, I guess yes why not if the other units had been more unique because this fill the steamtank role but it's fun if you want to make a freecompany army theme.

Have you played Warhammer Armies Project, they have rules for the Marienburg Landship that are pretty neat. Me and my friend play WAP pretty often and I make good use of my Elspeth and Theodore models

@@mamaabech Can't remember exactly, only played the empire once (as gelt) but I remember having them in my army since they had the coolest design out of all the empire cav. Also knights of morr aren't the ones with scythes, the knight of the sacred scythe are. So yes, we may have knights of morr but we're missing the knights with scythes x)

I haven't watched the full video yet So I don't know if it's a thing or not but I was thinking it would be awesome if she could send her special units from the gunnery school to other Empire Factions that she has alliances with to kind of help The AI fight battles better, so she doesn't have to be there and protect them every single time an Enemy pops up, Kind of like how Tzeench can make chaos spawn just pop in some random person's army. That would be cool if we had an ability like that for her

No armory is faction mechanic. Elector counts and prestige mechanics are unique to Karl Franz, Imperial Authority is accessed by empire factions when they are inside the empire.

I've never really understood why CA felt the need to balance your singleplayer-only options at all, so these Gunnery School mechanics sound great. Also really neat re-usage of existing assets with those bombardments, I like it!

For the record - nobody ever said there shouldn't be drawbacks by the way, I'm all for challenge - I'm just saying that goofy, overpowered nonsense should be allowed to exist. The AI cheats all the way to the bank anyway, why not give players some nonsensical options, too? That said, as I am typing this I realize what kind of a reaction such a topic might provoke from some of the TW3 fandom and I definitely don't care enough about this for that particular headache, so I'll leave it at that.

Haha the Amethyst units looks like something that would hit #1 on the Steam Workshop instantly but never make it to vanilla, it looks stupid fun but stupid powerful. (quick reminder that the Steam Workshop became a walled garden a few years ago, screw Steam for that and quit supporting it, modders please) I'm very happy that the mechanical steed is being added in DLC, it's a super unique facet of the Empire's forces that looks awesome in motion, they're great. Giddyup Buttercup's great-great-great... ... ...-great-grandaddy if it was a warhorse lmao I'm hoping that the Ironsides get a new weapon model in a future patch, that seems like a time constraint issue, ALL art that I could find for the Ironsides prominently displays their unique rifles. It makes 0 sense that they weren't given the slightly bulkier looking tacticool muskets with the flared barrels and monopod thingy, that's emblematic of their design and is arguably like...1 of 5 details keeping the Ironsides out of Creative Commons lol. It makes them look almost twice as cool too, c'mon CA, patch it in! Landships will hopefully come back as an addition to the Dogs of War faction if Dogs of War are added, idk tho, WH3 is getting low on support apparently. The Dogs of War leak may have been prototyping that didn't go anywhere internally, it just snuck into a release build. Hopefully I'm wrong. Hopefully they continue to work over upper management, and fire their Community Manager eventually too, I'm not buying any of the new DLC past Chorfs until Adam Freeman's fired, fr fr. His arrogance and incompetence has personally offended me, I can't stand to think that someone so unqualified is able to keep their job after the TERRIBLE community posts he released last year. I would've been fired from any customer service job ever if I'd conducted myself with the same language he used in his posts. What a terrible communicator, idk who he knows but that guy's gotta be a nepo-hire with some dirt on somebody, there's no other way. But anyways, great video, thanks for the coverage Nathan.

Let's be honest here, the reason the steam tank is a regular unit and not RoR is because CA wants to save the hurricanum and probably wizard lords for another DLC. That, or they ran overbudget. That said, I have been asking for Elspeth since game 1, so I'm happy to see her, but there not being wizard lords 8 years after the Empire was released when the DLC talks about magic and gunpowder is... a bit cheap in what is otherwise a very strong DLC.
