I truly appreciate Ms. Kimberly L. Jones! She is intelligent and knows her history. She has figured out a major breakdown when reconstruction ended and have some ideas on how to fix some things. I see some of the comments are not in her corner! What are you doing? Are you out there trying to get equity? Ms. Jones, keep fighting the good fight! I’m with you and you have my support! Progress is fighting for what you believe in, education is key on how to fight. Knowing what happened in the past, helps with planning the future.

When i first saw that Video, i thought that some Journalist had just found her at a Protest and she happened to go off on him? And maybe that's how it happened? Regardless, she knows of what she SPEAKS! This country is a total $h1ho1e for People of Color! I just finished reading Heather McGhee's - THE SUM OF US! And i am headed to my Library to order this Book - HOW WE CAN WIN, for to read as soon as I finally just got ahold of THE 1619 PROJECT!!

Glad you noticed that. Respectfully speaking, reparations must include cash payments. Not doing so does not allow black people who are the American Descendants of Slavery (ADOS) to have agency over their own lives. Only offering programs is a way to: 1.) Still control/ oppress black people by limiting access to capital to start businesses, buy homes/land and start our own private schools. (To name a few) 2.) To quietly sneak in other groups to take part in the what should belong to ADOS.

It’s easy when you have a head start and foundation. Just stop with the rhetoric of just working hard doing it on your own you will eventually get what you want. White Americans have always benefited from slavery even still today.
@belindakennedy58282 жыл бұрын
@@GenZRadio234 if your in America you also benefit from it regardless of colour,all whites in the USA did not have slaves or had nothing to do with the slave trade,the slave trade was done by big business / cooperations the 1%,go after the traders and merchants not all the folks with white skin who no doubt where as poor as a slave back in the day,slave where no doubt better off than them.

A crazy impossible idea. First, how do you determine who gets reparations? Just because they're black doesn't mean their ancestors were slaves here. I mean they could have just immigrated here last week. Second, just how black must you be? I have friends who are half black, their kids are 1/4 black and so on. I mean some are pretty white. Next, who pays? Many whites have ancestors who came here long, long after the slavery period. What about people with slave traders in their lineage like VP Harris? Do they pay? Lastly, who decides all this? Seems outside the purvey of Congress. Maybe the courts. Just completely crazy IMHO
@spoton86602 жыл бұрын
It most definitely would not be an impossible task. The" Conference on Jewish Material Claims" was formed over 50 years ago to assist with locating Holocaust survivors around the world, so a model has long existed on how to locate those who have been harmed. Most black people who are American Descendants of Slavery are still located in the United States. No more excuses.

@@spoton8660 You addressed one part but what about the other questions? Like who pays? How black do you need to be? It's a crazy, impossible task.
