You actually _can_ hear whispers if you listen carefully enough, along with the occasional creaks. It's hauntingly eerie, but the fire helps keep the ghosts away.

Welcome wearied travelers. Go on, make yourselves comfortable, it’s going to be a long night and it seems the storm has grown too dangerous to brave. Oh, before I leave you, do stay here in this room. What ever you hear, or what ever you may see... do not go into any other part of this old place of dreadful memories. They may not be as welcoming as I am...

Well, it is a gruesome tale, may you believe an old man like me.. but no more than 20 years ago two travelers came by this place. They went out too far too late and they needed a place to stay. I obliged, as anyone would to a nice couple. That night a heavy storm rolled in, making the road too dangerous to travel, so naturally I offered them a place to sleep. That night I heard a bloodcurdling scream, I hoped with all my heart it was just a nightmare, so I went back to sleep. The next morning, when the storm had gone quiet, I gathered up the courage to check on my guests... Man was away, woman laid badly cut and bruised on the bed. Checked her pulse right away but it was too late.. I, and many guests with me, have heard the screams and moans every single day... But the tea is ready, have a pleasant stay, and remember what I warned you about...

But as I listened, I heard as if from down below in the valley the howling of many wolves. The Count's eyes gleamed, and he said. "Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make!" Seeing, I suppose, some expression in my face strange to him, he added, "Ah, sir, you dwellers in the city cannot enter into the feelings of the hunter." Then he rose and said. "But you must be tired. Your bedroom is all ready, and tomorrow you shall sleep as late as you will. I have to be away till the afternoon, so sleep well and dream well!" With a courteous bow, he opened for me himself the door to the octagonal room, and I entered my bedroom. I am all in a sea of wonders. I doubt. I fear. I think strange things, which I dare not confess to my own soul. God keep me, if only for the sake of those dear to me! www.fulltextarchive.com/page/Dracula1/

As the adventurers were lead by the old man who wielded only a torch, he spoke out in a somber voice. "People may have forgotten what happened here, but the walls will never forget the atrocities committed." A scream echoed down the corridor with the party of heroes drawing their weapons and standing at the ready at a second's notice. As one turned to question the old man, he froze. He was gone. @@Briselance With each step forward down the corridor, the floor of wood near-rotten creaked loudly. The slightest of unexplained breezes sent chills down the spine of the most experienced of the adventurers. As they reached the door the man loyal to nothing but coin retrieved his picks and unlocked the door after fighting with the lock. Swinging open the entrance they saw a dilapidated living room with dusted furniture and many cobwebs from the years of abandonment, yet it was peculiar they ventured down a long corridor to emerge in a chamber that would've been the first room seen by anyone who strolled into any house. What nonsense of a home was this ancient place they had been led to? Stepping slowly into the room the roguish male glanced around and let down his guard. "I guess that old man isn't one for housekeeping." The rogue remarked.

I like how this feels realistic, no extra creepy music in the background just a silent room with only wind and fire. Like the occasional voices you can hear too, they aren’t right in your ear or too frequent- actually I probably missed them several times because they are so faint and far apart. I like videos that aren’t made to be some streamers cheap or royalty free Halloween theme background music. It’s easy to get lost in and feel like I’m actually there and not in some cheesy horror film like most of these ambiences turn out to be. (Can you tell I’m picky about what I put on my ambience playlists?- me? Haven’t noticed😂) you’ve done an outstanding job with this one. Very relaxing. 👍🏻

You know why I like haunted themes? Just look at the image of this video: It's so dark even just a few metres from the fire, but the seat's close enough so you aren't swallowed by the darkness. In this world we live we kinda live this way too, never too far from falling to the lowest, but also that close to what keeps us sane and comfortable. All it takes to go one way or another is just one step. One step to the dark behind that seat represents for me lying to yourself and pretending not to see your own struggles. Losing your path. Or one step closer to the crackling fire, feeling warmer with your inner self and everyone who you surround yourself with.

I love this. Could be the inside of a medieval castle. Don’t know if you can create a video of one. Inside would be a huge roaring fireplace, stone walls, tapestries, knights armors, spears,, mugs of beer, narrow castle windows, etc. You’re the best at creating a realistic medieval atmosphere. Or how about a midnight train. You’re so good with interiors because they are well worn and yet refined and elegant antique. No other KZbinr comes close. They try to copy you but fail. I have watched tons of other videos and try to enjoy them, but something is always missing in theirs. Either the sound is not right or the interiors look cartoony, or the decor is too modern and simple. You pay great attention to detail. I love your top video with 12 million views. It is my favorite ambient video. Thank you. You carry me away to a magical place of a lost era.
