Today we're talking to Hercules of Trueman Amps about his up-and-coming guitar company. They specialize in custom shop, vintage-accurate guitars, amps, and pedals. He's an incredibly thoughtful and passionate guy and I thought it would be fun to share the conversation.

I know this is a long one, but Hercules really has the passion I look for in a builder. Launching a brand is no small task, so I thought I'd share his dedication on the channel. There are a couple audio glitches, but you'll have to excuse it for the 6,000 miles between us. For full disclosure, this is *not* a paid placement. We've been chatting a while and I think he's on the right track to get a premium guitar company off the ground. They will be sending me a guitar for review late this year and we'll take a close look, as always :)

I am all ears! Still haven’t found that classic S or T style that I can appreciate. I’ve owned a few different Fender guitars, and my current is a local custom builder, except it has EMG pickups (81, S, SA) and I really like them in there so I want another one with retro pickups. Thank you Chris for always keeping my eyes on the horizons, much to learn and your channel exposes me to top quality new gear. Warm friendly interview, timing is perfect! I watched a documentary on the Millennial generation in Russia, and how they criticize the country... as I am almost 50 I wanted to wish them happiness, because I remember the 70s and it was a much different climate then. Welcome to the whole world, it’s a lot smaller now that we can reach each other, no more barriers. 🌎 ☮️ Enjoy the wind and rain Chris! ;)

If you like the idea, we would love to go to the journey and to build you a fully customized guutar, just for you, an instrument that would inspire you to play hard, noodle at nights and create music) I love my country and my people. Love American culture and history too, barely could spend a day not listening to some nice American country, bluegrass, funk and rock ☺ once i heard one wise man to say - the more languages we know, the more cultures we touch, the more times human we are. Yes, indeed, people are so beautiful and i prefer to concentrate over the better things. We live in a wonderful time, imagine that we are exchanging thoughts and feelings through thousands of miles simply tapping the phone screen - i hope the humanity will use this opportunity to build something beatiful! Chris is a true magician, he pours the sweet honey of his unique personality onto the pancake pile of beatiful guitars, and serves his dish with all kindness and hospitality - this restaurant is very special!

"Tired from taking a good rest" haha hilarious. His English is totally fine. Excited to see their products. Really like his cheer glee over not just playing guitar, but also building and diving into the details of it. I like how he talks about the density of wood too, not just the species and origin. And the Soviet fuzz idea is awesome. I hope it gets the Soviet space age look!

I watched the video on their Reverb page demoing a pink strat. In the background they had a 50’s or 60’s refrigerator 😳. The strat looked great and sounded good, but not sure I could take a chance on ordering a guitar from Moscow.
