Lose the scarf dude. You’re like the guy that wears a toboggan in the summer time. You lost all credibility when you decided to accessorize.

Neato! I am not a guitar player, but I very much enjoyed seeing the period guitars. They all have a beautiful architecture to them and in the proper hands have an equally beautiful sound. I have watched all the episodes pertaining to period guitars and I would certainly welcome seeing more "down the road a piece." For me it just can't become boring.

I've often wondered about the scarves. Authors, musicians, painters, actors etc. invariably wear them. Always struck me as sort of odd. It doesn't seem to be a seasonal thing which led me to believe they are used to indicate a political bent toward the left ? I'm far from a fashion critic or even someone who notices fashion, but these scarves are an enigma.

A veritable treasure trove of guitars! I am so jealous. Just nothing like the workmanship on those big jazz boxes from the 50s and 60s. Old Gretsch guitars are a weakness of mine as well. My first “real” guitar was a 64 Tennessean. I have been hooked ever since. Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Wow ! What stunning beauties. Unbelievable the condition of these guitars. As if they were never played. Suppose Jazz players are more careful with their guitars and treat them better than the average Rock / Blues player, with worn-off paint and the sigaret burn on the headstock. lol. Thnx for showing. Really enjoyed it. 👍🏽👌🏽
@Shred_The_Weapon4 жыл бұрын
I definitely respect those whom can own these models and use them properly. I doubt that I could, since they seem to have specific applications and my performance scope is more eclectic (though I have occasionally considered getting an Emperor Swingster). If I wanted one, I would go reissue. I got no business playing guitars of this vintage. Bob, you mentioned Bigsby bridges requiring the license. Do you know if a license agreement was ever necessary just to build the f-hole guitars themselves?

Brilliant video ! Nit picking I know but I cringe when people [and there a lot ofthem]refer to Bigsby like devices as "Tremeloes"- They are NOT -they are vibrato's i.e. they changethe Pitch of a note whereas a tremelo changes the Volume ofa note !

@billygoatgruff25544 жыл бұрын
Fancy ordering a custom guitar to be made and asking for that hideous arm rest thing to be screwed onto it........ What was that person thinking....... I am surprised that someone like me hasn't removed that thing and filled the screw holes. That's the sort of thing I would have done, and did to a Gretsch Jet Firebird back in the sixties. Some Gretsches had a quilted pad held on the back with press studs........ To prevent buckle-rash maybe....? What a daft idea. I removed the studs and painted over where they had been...... There were no OCD collectors back in 1967...... Guitars were just guitars. Other than that......... What beautiful guitars, and Ramon is a damn fine picker.
@jonnybeck67234 жыл бұрын
I agree about the big round pad on the back... heavy and ugly but the arm rest (?) when viewing well played gear it's hard to forget how human sweat can destroy a guitar's face albeit a colorful relic?
