As usual Monsieur Jonny, you and your wild bunch of selected Friends made what looks like a terrible weather day into an awesome shooting party with all the elements of tradition, english fashion elegance that any country can't compete, I have to admit, no équivalent, everybody seems so happy to be there! I have to remark all the works that is behind : gamekeeping and organizing, and your own part from your own vidéo team, and you and your Friends acting so good in front of the camera's lens. I will never be able to participate remotely to any of these shooting parties, but that's not a reason for this to disapeare as it support so much of the country side. Thanks Again so much for the fun and sharing these with us, May God and Saint Hubert bless and be with you all during the rest of the shooting Season !

20 bores are great. I don't know why anyone uses anything else. Nobody needs more than 28/30gm unless they are such a bad shot they shouldn't be shooting live game. 12 years of pattern testing 20 v 12 bores has clearly demonstrated a 20 will deliver more pellets in a 30 inch circle than a 12 at 50 and 60 yards from any identical load, irrespective of chokes. Often heavy chokes in a 12 will dissipate more pellets at long range due to "flatting" them in the compression through the tight choke so 32 -36 gm loads in a 12 often deliver less pellets at 60 yards in a 30 inch circle than a 28/30 gm through the same choke. When I show people this on the pattern sheets they are astonished and immediately dump their big loads in favour of lighter ones.

A good idea would be to analyze on Shotkam your misses. I find it difficult on shotkam to determine in front or behind . It would be useful to have your analysis.

So you fancy a 20 gauge for hunting, but I highly recommend trying a 16 gauge, that's the gentleman's gauge, or royal bore. I think you would prefer a 16 and 28 gauge over a 20 gauge, EXCLUSIVELY for hunting purposes. As 20 and 12 gauge are significantly cheaper to shoot at the trap or skeet ranges. I always do better with a 16 gauge over 12 and 20 gauges, no matter what the case. I get less pellets hitting the meat for one, a far more accurate shotgun, that's lighter than a 12 but carries more like a 20, but hits just as hard as 12 but out patterns both shotguns. The true magic in the 16 bore or gauge, is hunting. You will almost never cripple a bird with a 16 as well.

I have to stop watching this! I think I've watched it 6 times already! For me, as a foreigner, there is sooo much information hidden in little remarks and comments and specific jargon... Awesome! (So much mud, rain and wind - looks like a regular duck hunting day in the field, over here! 🤣 ...except we don't have "elevenses" and lunch break... If we're lucky to hunt from a pit, we'd fire up the stove and cook something egg/bacon/sausage/potato based in the cast iron pan... Oh, and some really awful, poorly brewed "American" coffee... 😂)
