@@ATW.91 and its rather unsure how much impact he had on the winning car for verstappen. According to redbull he had a lot of nothing to do with the actual F1 car development. Doesnt mean he no longer has it in him, but surely it gives a little bit of a different perspective if the last time this guy designed a race winning F1 car is a decade ago or last season lol. I dont really understand why he gets celebrated for all those titles as well. Surely he had a significant impact, but at the end of the day the drivers drove the car to the win and especially back in the days the engine was often the key reason a team dominated (unless it was something that was gonna be banned next season lul) and not so much the other things. I feel like the groundeffect era is actually one of the first concepts in a long time where aerodynamics are more important than the engine, especially as the engines havent changed so much recently. 2026 will be a new story, but I think again mostly because of engine related things. Although speaking rather abstract, Newey talking about the rb19 gives so much insight to the recent downform of Red Bull. Like overreliance on simulation and data. The current issues red bull and vcarb are suffering from is over reliance on the wind tunnel data that don't correlate to track performance. That drawing board is extremely powerful in the current era of overreliance and assumptions on data. Newey has a foundational understanding of aero, something technology can't replace.

I worked for a manager who did just that who shared much wisdom with a 20's year old me and I followed his plan and was fortunate to retire at 57 and do what I wanted and enjoy waking up more every day a couple years into it. For everyone who thinks, "Yeah, yeah, yeah," this interview teaches the age-old lesson that nothing is free: the risk taken, the pain of mistakes, and, in Adrian's case, the responsibility taken are what separate the talkers from the acheivers. To Adrian, I really felt, and hope I understood your words. Wishing you the very best on your next chapter. 👌🏽

What a good interview, big shout out to the interviewers who allowed him to speak freely, I swear I could see regret (for asking the question) written on Jake Humphries' face when he started to explain the design philosophy of the Red Bull car (lol). He's got real old school engineering passion and deeply understands the relationship the best engineers have between science and artistic creativity.

Fernando can still do it. I've been a dreamer my hole life. Fernando was my favorite since win 1. He took down MSC. I lost so much in my life. I clung on to him sticking around. Please give him one more car Adrian.

I am so upset that interview wasn't 10 hours long. I was hanging on every word. I thought Adrian was a cold, calculating engineer, but he's actually so human and so full of wisdom. I really appreciate you letting me get to know him.
