Story Of Shakuntala and Dushyant
The story of Shakuntala written in the Ved Vyas Mahabharata not only gives us insights into her life but also hints into the culture of Sanatan Dharma thousands of years ago. The story of Shakunta starts with the visit of King Dushyanta to the hermitage of sage Kanva. Upon reaching the hermitage the King noticed that the rishi was not there and the hermitage was empty. He called out in a loud voice and hearing his words a maiden showed up. She was dressed in the attire of an ascetic and was as beautiful as Lakshmi. She was Shakuntala.

You brought up a great point 🙂There are 2 versions of Shakuntala's story. The one you are referring to with the curse of Rishi Durvasa is from the Kalidas version, whereas the one shared in this video is from the original Ved Vyas Mahabharata. We literally read and translated the content from the Adi Parva of Ved Vyas Mahabharata to give an accurate representation of this story. Shakuntala was curse by Durvasa that his husband will for get her and the only way it can be undone if she shows somthing that Dushyant gave her. Will come to the palace she lost her ring in the lake . Due to the curse Dushyant couldn't remember her. At the the king found the ring and there was a happy ending.

It is according to kalidasa's abhigyanam shakuntalam ..but when we read puranas there's no such mention of ring and all..
