ANDROID Hisense Sero Pro: How to Factory Reset your tablet tutorial

Very simple step by step instructions to factory reset your Hisense pro tablet
Here is the written instructions
...
1) Power down device
2) Press and hold down the power and volume down(-) until you see recovery
3) Volume down(-) to wipe data/ factory reset press the power button 1 time to select
4) HIghlight yes and press the power button to select
ONCE TABLET RETURNS TO THE REBOOT SCREEN
5) Reboot tablet now is highlighted press the power button
6)_ you are done

Thanks for this info, it worked like a charm! My gf wanted me to get a Polaroid tablet because hers seemed fried. After looking through the entire HiSense Sero 7 manual, I didn't find what I was looking for. It's basically a new tablet now! Awesome Christmas gift!

I have a Sero 8 and tried this and it didnt seem to work but I ended up trying the volume up button instead and it worked. My tablet would always get stuck on the Hisense loading screen and happened out of the blue like a year and a half ago, I almost threw it away a few times but never did and it just collected dust. I have no idea why I didnt search on how to fix it long ago, but I didnt until today and all I can say thank you for making this video. Now my tablet is working again like new and I dont need to buy another one. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, you're a lifesaver. I accidentally ruined my screen when I slipped and had to brace myself with the tablet between my hand and a table.. Can't see anything really. Totally ruined my screen. I needed to do a FDW before returning my device, (which it seems is covered under the Walmart 2 year extended warranty) so all my stuff isn't out there for someone else to see. Easy to follow video, great screen caps to go by, very clear instructions. Thanks for the video! I love these tablets, and I'd get another except I really want a step up in terms on on board storage, and since Hisense doesn't sell the larger storage model in the US, I'll be moving to the new N7. I will miss my Nexus 7 clone that was the fantastic Sero 7 Pro.

Thank you! The Hisense 8 is at Walmart now for 129. But I found out the nexus 7 2013 is on sale at Walmart for 175. Ive been using the hisense pro 7 til the connection where u charge it went bad in one year. Other than that I love the pro 7 but am almost afraid to get another cause this is my second pro 7 with same problem. Was hoping the 8 was better than the pro 7 cause of price but now that nexus is sounding good :) thank you.

Trista, I want you to attempt this: press and hold the power and volume up button for 15 seconds while being plugged into the wall. if nothing then try this reset video and see if it boots up . if not you are more than likely having a main board issue which will need to be fixed by Hisense. from what you told me i feel that its not the battery port or battery.

im making a more detailed sd card video, i felt that i could have done a bettert job..... try a few things that i found helped others. try to format the sd card to FAT32 and see if that will allow you to move some apps that are restricted from being put on to the SD card. If your still unsuccessful try my video on Rooting if your experienced it should be hard for you to root the tabet and et it to do what you want!

Hi, My Sero Pro 7 has recently decided not to boot. It was working fine, and then it wasn't - nothing happened to it (like being dropped) and I don't recall any odd behaviour before this. It charges OK, but will only display the green Hisense logo for a few minutes, then displays a blank screen until it's turned off. I'v tried wiping data, as in the video (twice now) but it's still not booting. It displays the Hisense logo you can see in your video at around 3:32, but it never gets to the Smart logo at 3:40 Any ideas? Thanks!

Awesome! i am currently having trouble with my tablet, i cant get it to get the Android Icon with the red triangle of the screen. I did follow your steps and did not work. NEB CAMPBELL if your phone is plugged into a charger while you're doing it it won't work. At least that's been my experience

No I plug it in and try to see if it shows a light or anything and it won't do anything.some times with my tablet it will be charging then it will uncharge.last night my tablet was fine,I went to go turn it on and play it and it wouldn't work.

Alrighty. So my Hisense tablet is dead. Like, completely and utterly... dead. When I plug it in, nothing happens. The charging picture doesn't pop up, nothing. Blank screen. After about an hour of letting it sit on a regular universal charger, I came back to it, and found that it had not charged at all. When I held down the power button, it showed a red battery which I am guessing means low battery. Nothing else will help. I even tried your video, and it still does the same thing as if I was holding down the power button. Help?

I have a sero 7 pro it will not boot up past the hisense Smart screen, I have tried reset numerous times no luck with reset,before it froze up it would randomly crash and restart kept getting worse untill finally only will boot to Smart screen. Any ideas, Hisense was not any help.

Well, the problem is this was a Christmas gift for my son about two years ago and my niece set it up. Great question..... there isnt too much differrent with the 8 vs. the 7 there is a bigger screen and some of the processing has gotten better also a better camera. if your looking to save money and still have an affordable tablet the 7 is the way to go. but in your situation the 8 isn't a bad choice, it still has some kinks that need to be worked out but overall is a descent device. when left with no other option. this is my overall disclaimer ..... keep the receipt!!!! scan it, take a picture,do whatever you can to preserve it . in case of an emergency and you are in need of service that is your ticket to getting it fixed without having to pay the high repair cost.

I know exactly what you mean. when the WiFi bars are blue its connected to the router and the internet. But when your WiFi bars are grey it means that your connected to the router but the router isnt connected to the internet. i usually reset my router or modem to fix the issue and if that doesnt work call your internet provider . but it can usually be resolved with the reset of the router/modem..This should answer your questions

The Hisense Guru i tried that but didnt work, i own 3 pro tablets and it happened to 2 of them. 1 of them has the blue wifi bars but sometimes goes gray n then back to blue. i was able to fix 1 by hard reset and recovery to stock. the last one still not working after hard reset, bars stay gray.

well that almost rules out the router becuase if one works then they all should. do me one favor if you have a McDonalds near by, i would like you to take your tablet and try to connect to their free WIFI. THAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO FIND OUT IF ITS THE TABLET OR THE ROUTER. (EXCUSE THE CAPS). Also have you attempted to reset the tablet and see if that would work? if so and it didnt sure the issue, then i would do one of two things. either send back to hisense and have their warehouse change out the main board or see if your still within your 15 day warranty and swap it out. it more than likely the router but troubleshoot it and let me know what happens!!!

The Hisense Guru side note, i have had the Tablet since Christmas and did not use the Bluetooth at all until now, I bought the Nyko Playpad Pro and the first time i used Bluetooth, it worked fine but now the Bluetooth icon also stays gray. when i did the hard resent, it ended up working again but a couple of hrs later it stopped again. supposedly it is the Jellybean 4.2.1 firmware that makes it mess up. i read that 4.2.2 and even 4.1.2 work better with no problems. do you think i just have to wait for the 4.2.2 update or is this just too many errors on my tablet n just return it. i bought the warranty

Great job buying the warranty!!!! That helps protect your investment if you damage it. the update would definitely help .My source tells me that they are working on a 4.2.2 version for the tablet(since each tablet manufacturer has their own format on the android platform). There's nothing wrong with waiting. Did you try the McDonald trick to determine if the tablet is faulty?

the backup is all linked to the google cloud. so as long as you sign in with the same user name and password it should automatically update the information from your profile.. and this goes for any android device.

i would call customer service and get it sent in ASAP. if you dont have the receipt go to where you purchased it, they should have it on file
