For me the biggest change happend, when I changed my environment completely. I moved out of my parents house into a totally new city and for the first time was able to live up to myself and my own expectations. Another important point for me was and is to create boundaries even if it means distance myself.

Your videos are super helpful!!! Can you please create a video on healing social anxiety as well?

Your idea about "small daily promise" works great for me. I try and go out for a walk (even if just 10 minutes) post I get back home from work. I am gradually replacing that with a light jog. The intent is not to overwhelm myself, but choose small habits and actions that I can make a part of my lifestyle.

One thing I’ve realized that has a huge impact on my depression / anxiety is my day to day environment. Learning to say no (as an empath) is super freaking hard and can cause more anxiety in the moment but I’ve gained so much more internal strength doing it!!! Also realizing that some people in our lives are simply not healthy for us even if they have been in our lives for years. Learning to have courage and release the things that don’t bring me peace have helped with my depression and anxiety! Thank you for this video!!!

Oh my God, you know so much! 🙂 For me, the best remedy in healing my depression is, by far, physical exercise. I found my depression is also nurtured by bad food habits and, the only way I found that can keep me out of those habits is physical exercise. I no longer want the bad stuff so, it's a win win situation!

Moving stagnant energy by gentle movement is so healing! I've practiced walking, dancing or stretching when I don't feel like doing a full on workout and build up from there, and trying to incorporate some form of moving and getting into my body daily to make it a habit to look after myself in that way. Now I regularly try to seek out safe environments to talk about my feelings with people I trust, which makes me accept myself more, whatever I may be feeling. Courage and love to all of you warriors out there. If you're struggling, that means you're still going and you'll overcome this too!

What helped mine was meditating 1 min every day. Over time this turned to 5 mins. Then I added 5 min yoga which eventually turned to 15 mins. Now I added journaling. Habits become easier through reinforcement and having small steps make it easier to integrate.

I’m finding gentle forms of yoga (probably because of the breath work?) is really helping me. I loved your vids on the nervous system and would love more about how to use breathwork to help heal the nervous system! Mine is a wreck. 😂 Thanks so much for the work you’re doing!🙏 💗

I’ve found slow breathing a lot more helpful than quick breathing: taking six breaths in and out a minute, rather than fast breathing which sounds like activating the fight, flight and freeze mode.

I can imagine that the way you handle your thoughts and your emotions also plays a pretty significant role in terms of developing depressive traits or not.

WOW! To a T!!! After several years of saving decent, or good videos, after seeing this, I created an envelope titled "GREAT VIDEOS" to save this one to!! I'm currently working on changing my diet, and breathing, with goal of adding movement this week. Consistency for me, will be key!

❤️❤️❤️ I only think quick breathing is not so good for us, as it activates sympathetic system and can cause hyperventilating. I would go with pranayama and 3D MELT breathing, to name a few good ones. MELT is a technique based on Feldenkrais, among other things.

Can SamE cause belly pain? I have found a huge positive difference in my mood since I eliminated processed foods, wheat & sugar from my diet.
@enlightndark66712 жыл бұрын
SamE is very controversial because it has side effects including upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, headache, dizziness, anxiety, and skin rashes- web MD -NEVER take SamE if you have insomnia or mania or ptsd or high anxiety! I SWITCHED to N-Acetyl Cysteine OR NAC which is PERFECTLY SAFE EVEN WITH ANTI-DEPRESSANTS but CANNOT be absorbed in the presence of BREAD/PASTA/FLOUR GLUTEN/wheat acids. NAC changed my life, greatly reduced my physical pain and gently uplifted my mood and energy! Also minerals, magnesium, B vitamins, K and especially D are essential for hormone balance which affects our brain chemistry! HOPE THIS HELPS!

I’m surprised to hear you say that genes were thought to be the primary cause of depression. I feel like it was always blamed on the environment and only recently we have looked to genes and family history to diagnose depression
@fatsharks2 жыл бұрын
In the 80's, 90's and even the 00's, mainstream American psychiatry was all about finding the "genes" that "cause" depression, and kept pushing drugs as the only good way to treat it. She's talking about that.
@sheindyone2 жыл бұрын
I've never thought my mental health struggles were because of my family genes. Not really anyway. I feel like I'm the only one in my family struggling horribly, but I don't have any contact with them so I don't really know. But they also have much more support than I ever did so🤷

I love me lmao 🤣🤣🥰🥰😋 when you separate yourself, from the environment or toxic family that trigger you. You can manage it a bit better . Psych. 101 & 210. Nutritional Psychology. Cashews and other kinds of nuts, and oranges help with that. 4-8-4 breathing helps alot. My number one tool? BOUNDARIES, A STRONG ASS CUT OFF GAME, and A SAFE SPACE TO ISOLATE😋 (karmics having a mental meltdown as we speak...it shows. Don't trigger your psychosis, into a heat flash now. My HEYOKA ass having too much fun with this troll sesh. It's like a cat batting around toy mice, with catnip. )

She is a psychologist but also there are people who are not clinicians who still give very good advice. So that’s invalid all the way around.
