Girl that’s how I feel, I’m starting late as well and when she says two years of building your resume I’m like, damn girl, I already did 6 years of college , 6 years of the career world and now you’re telling me none of that experience counts for nothing because I didn’t perform in the local high school play? How many actors have had to teach and entertain a class of 30 5th and 6th graders all year long? Why can’t that be on my resume? You’d be surprised how much acting is involved in teaching. Like when I act like these kids aren’t driving me crazy and I act like standardized tests are important so the kids will take them seriously 😂

When I was younger I got the chance to audition in front of a few agencies and directors, got a few callbacks and even got offered to go to my local art school. Sadly, the money was not there and I was unable to attend. I am a freshmen in college now at my local tech school and I keep changing my major, and everyone is asking me what I want to do.. Acting is always on my tongue but I just say I dont know. Now that I am 19 Ive decided to continue with my classes and theatre. It's time to reignite the fire.

It’s so inspiring to know there are actual steps I can take to get to the level I want to be at as an actor. I'm planning to become an actress, but I'm too young. When I'm in high school I'm going to audition for every lead role or even small parts! Why? I need to get an experience. Soon I'll go to Broadway and audition for small parts, maybe lead roles. I'll also be in a college and an university. When I've performed a lot and I finish finish school, I'll go to Hollywood and be on TV. Hopefully my dreams will come true. (I'm also trying to become a singer.)

Thank you sooo much! Not so long ago I understood that acting was my dream. But I'm almost 27, that's why I hesitated a lot... "Probably it's too late" I thought. What's more, I'm not from America and Hollywood was like a line that can't be crossed by a foreigner. Now I have a courage to start over from scratch, to sing up for classes, to work on my self-expression, to find a way to act in great movies and reach Hollywood. Half an hour ago I didn't know where to start from, now I do. Thank you very much for inspiration and useful information!!

Acting has intrigued me since I was a kid. I'm originally from Mexico City but moved to Southern California when I was 5 with my mom and immediately I gravitated to Movies. I use to love going to blockbuster and renting any movie that had a good plot and I'd sit there rewinding and rewinding memorizing lines and reenacting scenes lol I wish my parents would have taken note and gotten me into acting. Now at 26 years old I still have the desire to dive into the world of acting. I'm a very passionate, humble, outgoing and anyone who knows me will tell you I love people and adapt to my surroundings. Okay enough about me lol basically I really want to give it a try cause I don't want that to be something I regret later on in life wondering if I would have been great. I like how confident your voice sounds. You definitely know what you are talking about cause you get into the little details which is always great. Thank you for this video.

EVERY ACTOR STARTS by taking acting classes: scene study, character development, script analysis, on-camera, monologues, audition techniques. Actors take classes and train with acting coaches all of their careers, even stars. Just like athletes. It is the SAME. Start training. Look in your city for acting classes. Take 6 months with one school, 6 months with another school and every 6 months and so on. Read my downloadable e-books for a plan of action to take. It’s really very simple. www.secretsofahollywoodtalentmanager.com

I just found you, and I am now addicted to your channel, lol. Your information is absolutely phenomenal! I have been acting for years from high school to community theatre (took a few acting classes before I got married and started having babies and it all went away, lol) and for the last 25+ years have been acting in our church's faith-based community theatre. I have been able to co-write for some of them, and fulfill a lot of those 'itches' that I couldn't truly fulfill while raising a family. I am now at what I lovingly call the 'Bucket List' stage of life, where I'm able to consider pursuing more in the world of theatre. I've signed up to take an acting class (I've done some over the years, but most of what I've learned is through experience/online study), and am scheduled to get headshots. I'm not gonna lie, I'M NERVOUS. At 50ish, my negative voices are saying it's too late to start. BUT..my gut tells me otherwise. THANK YOU FOR ALL of your incredible videos...they are giving me motivation and determination!!

Huh...mmmm. I worked with a coach and took some lessons read books based on the lessons and the primary lesson was authenticity! Basically YOU have to be authentically you and you lend (or loan out) your personality TO the character. SO if u r quirky n goofy you play the character that way. If the casting director likes your version of the character you get the job. If not someone else does. And if it happens that way so be it! That doesn't make you a failure or a bad actor or wrong for the part....that simply means that role/character/part was not right for YOU (and for your personality) and don't stress it cause the right part WILL come along that IS a match to your authentic personality. (Anyway that's what I learned - perhaps there are different schools of thought??) In any case: thanks for this video is awesome. Tons of info in 30 mins

that part with "at least 2 years in theater" is so off... In my country...same as in USA especially. There are actors who only go fore auditions and are movie actors....and second group are theater actors. Only few doing both because it is whole different world and you can be world class in one and not that good in the other one. And also...even in normal jobs when you come to interview as young new playa without anything in your resume. There is a change they will take you in on the base of your personality and act so.......not very accurate for some maybe even discouraging

I did performing arts and the best tip I can give people who want to improve on their acting is watch your monologues back. Record yourself, don't be afraid, watch it back, pick at it and then rehearse it all again. Take out the bad, put in what you wish you had done and then re perform and watch it back. I watch old videos of me performing and I freak out over how I am stood etc. I can tell I'm not full into that character and there's still a bit of me in there. A boy was complaining because he didn't feel well and used it as an excuse as to why he wasn't in full character, the acting teacher said "but is your character unwell?". They will be tough with you. Also they did fitness and flexibility. At first we all thought it was stupid but it really helped with how we stood and positioned ourselves while performing. I upload covers but I really want to upload monologues too. Just try your hardest guys ♥ even the smallest parts will add up :)

Amazing video. Loved the powerful, brutal honesty. Its an eye-opener who really needs serious advice about what it takes to really make it in this business when starting out. I am looking forward to enjoying more of your stuff. I guess the only discouraging part is that it all adds up to a lot of money. There really isn't a lot of hope for a paycheque to paycheque family man who lives hours away from a city that offers only marginal opportunity for training, acting classes, serious training, etc. I am seriously considering working on a KZbin channel that analyzes the challenges someone in my position faces, but this video does make it seem pretty much insurmountable. Do you think there's any way to leveredge KZbin in some fashion in such a challenge?
