Scalp massage is one of the techniques used in Acupunture and Traditional Chinese Medicine for hair health. It's a similar concept: it releases tension, stimulates the acupressure/acupuncture points which allows qi to flow smoothly, and increases blood flow. There's a lot more to it than just that, which I'm not qualified to speak on since I'm not a practitioner, but it's a simple thing that one is encouraged to do at home for overall scalp health. I've been doing it for years, but my arm does get tired, so this device is so intriguing.

If it's used in acupuncture, then we know for sure it's b.s., as the whole acupuncture industry has been proven a sham many, many times. Along with chiropractic and homeopathy.

I just squeezed and massaged my head, and oddly enough it popped my sinus and made me able to breathe better through my nose. That makes me convinced that my head is blocked somehow with inflammation or something which possibly is causing my hair problems.

I am using red light therapy. I feel it is definitely helping. I have a hairmax 41 laser band and I also just purchased the Omnilux men’s. It has a higher wavelength for deeper skin penetration. Interesting. We tell cancer patients who have tough fibrosis of the skin following radiation to massage the fibrotic skin to get the fibrosis to become less stiff and increase blood flow. So this is making sense. Did anyone else notice significant hair loss starting two weeks after a Covid vaccination or from having Covid? I certainly did and my sister did as well. Most, but not all eventually grew back, but ever since then I’ve been losing hair. Thyroid levels are “normal”, so I’ll check in with my naturopath to see what options I might have for bio-identical hormone replacement.

I did not take any vaccines, thank God, but I did get covid and went almost completely bald several months after I was better. I normally have naturally dark brown curly hair to my waist (I'm age 64, but I'm super youthful, exercise alot, etc.). My hair has now grown back about 90 percent. I tried seemingly everything. The only product that absolutely 💯 made my hair grow back was applying hemp oil to my scalp. I kept my scalp and hair soaked in hemp oil for months, and my hair grew back. ❤

It’s extremely common for Covid to cause hair loss because it actually triggers Telogen Effluvium. Telogen Effluvium happens whenever the body is put under a severe amount of stress. It disrupts the hair cycle and throws the hair cycle into an intense hair shedding phase. Once TE happens approx 3 mos after the stress was put onto the body the hair will begin to shed. The hairs die immediately at the time of the stressful event but it takes 3mos to start notice the shedding because the shedding is actually the new hairs that have began to grow are now long enough to start poking through the scalp and pushes the dead one out. Supplement or any type of hair loss serums can not stop or reverse TE. Those hairs died at the time of the stressful event and are going to fallout regardless! Other things can cause TE like a big surgery that was hard on the body, really high fevers, childbirth, just even emotional stress like the loss of a loved one. Some autoimmune diseases can cause it because of the stress the autoimmune disease is putting on the body. I suffer from this and when my autoimmune disease get out of control it happens. For a good 10yrs I have TE happen at least once a year😢 Hopes this helps anyone to understand. It’s not just specifically Covid it’s the stress Covid cause on some peoples bodies.

We don't know scalp massage doesn't help women, but the studies involving botox and scalp massage that we discussed were done in men and their customer base to date is largely male. If I was experiencing hair loss I would start massaging my scalp by hand initially because, as Gus said, improving blood flow to the scalp is likely going to benefit anyone experiencing hair loss. I massage my face with a roller daily because of its anti aging benefits.

However, I have been having a go at scalp massage for several months and I am growing some fine hair in my temple areas which have receded considerably. I have also been putting some eyebrow growth serum in that area too, so it might be that? I haven't seen any research around argireline and scalp tension but I see where you're coming from on that.
