Awesome job! I didn’t know you could use same length axles DRiV/pass. On a diff. And keep it square since pinion center line is offcenter. 👍🏽

So what did you use to keep the coils in place without welding ? Cause the stock gbody has those cups on so the bottom sits in place, I don't see how this will work

So I have a 95 mustang GT 8.8 in my 81 Malibu. Spherical upper ball joints and double adjustable upper control arms. It does the mad wheel hop thing something serious. I've seen brackets that lower the front (car end) of the upper arms which would seem like the same end result you have with taller ears. Is this really the fix? Thanks for sharing your skills, great videos. Also, do you have a stall in that trans? Stock converter in my 4l80e is really soft.
@Thehouseofboost7 жыл бұрын
turbolq4 yes, you ethier have to raise the diff end or lower the chassis side, baseline suspension makes a nice kit, it has a 3000 stall b&m holeshot converter
@turbolq47 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! That explains why it wheel hops after replacing the springs, lowers the diff end in realtion to chassis. I need a converter!!
@inscoredbz7 жыл бұрын
did you mig weld or arc weld the tubes to the center? is the hole for the control arm in the same location as the factory g body rear? i've read that mustang 8.8 rears have the hole about an inch forward compared to the factory rear.
@Thehouseofboost7 жыл бұрын
inscoredbz I migged the tubes, the mounts are an 1" forward at at the top, that's why I redrilled the upper control arms
@inscoredbz7 жыл бұрын
sorry, i was talking about the lower control arm mounting point.

That diff will explode. Weld plates to the gears and do not weld to the iron. Use a min spool, these days they are cheap as. Your boxed arms will bind the roll, they are supposed to flex, the reason GM make them that way. Boxing them will put more load back on the brackets or the floor. Which will be your problem as it does not like a lot of power. The rest is good scrap engineering. Though 2.73? seems very tall for 1/4 mile stuff. 3.5 3.7 would closer. Explorer?

You can get a 9" housing ready for a gbody for not much money. Look at dirt track parts website like speedway. I mean a lot more money than you spent overall, but much much more durable. Nice work though. Not intending to diss here.
