Animals are not stupid like everyone thinks they are... If that shark can see you and knows you're not something it likes to eat you're probably not going to get bit! Especially with all those bright clothes on! Like 9 out of 10 shark attacks are people on surfboards or boogie boards because the bottom of the surfboard looks just like the stomach of seals and other animals. Yes sometimes people get bit just standing in shallow water right by the shore but that's usually just a smaller shark that's curious and typically they never come back for another bite after they realize that you're not something they like to eat. You never really want to take your chances with a shark but more than likely you're going to be okay if they can see you and you don't look like their favorite meal! Those stories that you hear about the people like way back in world war 2 that were in the middle of the ocean stranded and were eaten alive by sharks are incredibly rare and are typically starving sharks that haven't eaten in quite some time and that's pretty rare out in the middle of the ocean with all the stuff there is to eat! Anything is possible but it's because of all of these dumb movies like jaws and s*** that sharks get such a bad rap for no reason

You can actually see the shark get startled by the men screaming and let go for a moment. Very interesting to see. This white shark was just being an opportunist and getting himself a tasty free meal. What if white sharks have evolved to be smart enough to understand that when they see the boats and lines, if they wait around, they might get a free meal? Especially since tuna are notoriously fast swimming fish and probably difficult for the shark to catch on it own? I know that dolphins have learned to swim near the fishing boats to get free meals, so who’s to say that white sharks haven’t finally caught on? Imagine casting a net and catching a great white shark by accident? 😅

A once in a lifetime experience! There’s plenty more fish in the sea 😉

That’s exactly what I said. I don’t think that was the only tuna they caught that day.

Lol. Definitely. The movie Jaws did that to many. People did not even want to take a bath.

Me too. I get creeped out when I'm in my pool at night like there really is a shark in there.

you'd have to think so, too bad it took a whole real live tuna to bait the shark to the top though

Imagine fighting a tuna for close to an hour, a good hook set, sweat dripping in your eyes, arms tired, your buddies cheering you on….you get him to the boat, the gaff is ready….what could possibly go wrong from here? And then HOLY SH*T!!!!! I wouldn’t even be mad man, that’s a memory he’ll never forget. He can catch a hundred more tuna…

This happened to my dad years ago. I guess just when he was getting the tuna close to the boat, a shark took a huge chunk out of it. They still got the fish, but it was missing a section out of the middle in the shape of a shark mouth. It was a clean bite too, not all torn up. Somewhere I have a picture of it once it was on the deck.

My mom had a similar experience. Not to this level just lake fishing and a snapping turtle ate the fish she caught

Sounds awesome never had thst happen to me tho. My best fishing story was from my 1st time fishing on a boat b4 I had only fished in small bodies of water while I was on land. Anyways I was 17 & me my friend & his uncles went on charter boat that took us out to the middle of the ocean to fish. We had been there 2 hours & I hadn't caught anything & only got maybe 2 bites while every1 else on this boat had ateast 3 fish. I was disappointed but I was still having fun just being there but also because there was a small shark maybe 3 feet that kept breaking the lines just as it was gonna be caught at least 4 ppl had it but it got away. That's when I got a bite idk how long it took but my arms where a bit tired when it finally hit the surface the other fishermen on the boat came over & were cheering me on & finally I was able to get it. After that initial catch & release I went on a roll catching fish & ended up with the most in my group of 5.
