Ive know captain joey for many years and fished with him as well. Hes worked in the industry for years and is a great communicator of fishing information. Listening to his utube channel will definitely improve your game .

I have to tell you I was the first to fish with the jigs for blackfish. I started with the unpainted jigs first. I fished New Rochelle waters. Tidal tail jig are great. I did catch a lot of blackfish with them. I do use them to this day. It’s all about hook sharpness
@FishingLongIsland3 жыл бұрын
Do you know Eugene from up there. I did not like the fist flat style jigs John made but his new ones are amazing.
@kennethciardullo35343 жыл бұрын
I do not know Eugene personally. If you watch the blackfish videos the larger fish come in and suck up the crab. They automatically run with the crab offering. To me it doesn’t matter--flat jig-upright jig I slam them. Again hook sharpness is most important. Been fishing for over 60 years in the sound. I fish with whole green crabs. Also I release the larger fish.

I think it’s all preference point said. I don’t like Daiwa due to it being the most heavy kinds of rods on the market compared to shimano or other jig companies.
@FishingLongIsland3 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely preference like I was saying but the set up I use is extremely light. But Shimano does make a nice rod as well. I started with the green trevala then went to Daiwa
@fishydubsfishing65163 жыл бұрын
Why can't you use what they call slow pitch rods for that
@FishingLongIsland3 жыл бұрын
That is a slow pitch rod. It’s perfect. Had Tog to 13 pounds on that rod
