Well his parents became Christians and she obviously got it from the words of Jesus (see below). It's human nature to want credit and applause for our good actions but Jesus, who served and walked in humility, in the revolutionary Sermon on the Mount, speaks about the nature of GOD, which is what born again Christians become conformed to (i.e they get a NEW "nature": 2 Corinthians 5:17), by the power of the Holy Spirit. "Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you" (Matthew 6:1-4)

Good man. Amazing man. The story and his reaction to all of the survivors standing up put a tear in my eye. And the fact that he didn't boast about it for 50 long years just shows the class of the man. He helped the kids without any selfish reason. Lots of love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
