Hi! I'm a Zoo Biology student so I, of course, believe that it's beneficial for some animals to be in captivity, such as those who were confiscated from the illegal pet trade, injured animals, endangered species etc. However, I don't agree with people like Joe Exotic keeping tigers the way he does. In the UK, a lot of zoos are under BIAZA, an organisation that essentially regulates zoos to ensure they're doing their job: conservation, education etc. I'm definitely against taking perfectly happy and healthy animals from the wild to keep in zoos as that isn't conservation, but some animals wouldn't survive in the wild due to injury, illness or maybe they were taken into the illegal pet trade so never learned the important behaviours from their parents that are essential to survival. Breeding programs are also really important to the survival of some species!

I agree with what you said, and I also enjoy going to zoos because it's a way to see exotic and wild animals safely. Especially, big cats. They're beautiful, but deadly. By the way, this is a cool looking cake.

Absolutely! Conservation, rehabilitation, and education should be the goals of any and all animal captivity. The goals should be to help increase and preserve wild populations and their habitats. Private ownership of wild animals is awful.

I think animals should only be taken in when they are injured or disabled or something so they don't die in the wild and they're taken care of until they aren't injured anymore.

Pretty much yeah. And some animals like scorpions and tarantulas really don’t care if they’re in captivity. They’re very simple creatures. They live their whole lives in one whole anyways. When it comes to insects, they don’t share any human feelings. They don’t feel affection or anything like that and you can’t put human feelings on something that simply just doesn’t share them. So scorpions, tarantulas and even snakes would probably not notice any difference in captivity anyways because in the wild they’re basically hermits. They really don’t go anywhere and hang out in one hole

At least he takes better care of them then rich middle eastern princes. They have their big cats claws and even fangs removed. They basically tease them too so they’d chase them. I’m not saying you don’t have something of a point. But I just wanted to say these scum bag princes will go as far as remove the big cat’s teeth and claws which you should never do even with house cats. That will cause so many health issues. But mostly I see that you care and thought you might want to know that princes will keep big cats and have them declawed and defanged. Not to mention they also have sex slaves which is whole other barrel of disgusting. At least this guy, as far as I’m aware, tries to give his tigers the best life. ALL wild animals should stay wild. The way they're captured is horrible. Their families or packs are often killed or maimed so the poachers can capture a few babies. They're ripped away from their habitat and transported (often illegally) in boxes and suitcases stuffed in like drugs. In fact they ARE drugged. Some live, some die. THOSE are the ones that are raised in captivity. Or they are bred. If people stopped thinking it was cool to own monkeys or other exotic animals there wouldn't be this issue.

Hello, just a tip, you should use baking strips when baking the cakes. They stop the sides from being more cooked than the middle, and also stop caramelization. As well as, they let the cake cook evenly without having a bump in the middle. They really help, but you may need to cook the cake a little longer.

Have you tried cake strips around your pans? That would probably take care of the carmelization at least on the sides and possibly on the top as well. The videos I've seen where they use them seem to come out really well.
