I knew Keith Gibbons and he was a super nice fellow. I've been in this car a couple of times and it can pull !! Pushing more than 500hp !! In the last 4-5 yrs has not been good for the underneath as it was not like this previously. Keith put a lot of time and love into this car and I really hope it's redone properly. If I had known where it was, it probably would have been back in Newfoundland.

Curious, what about Canadian concrete and weather makes it bad to store a car on concrete? What else do you store cars on? Here in Colorado never have a problem and we get freezing and hot and no issues with underside of any of my cars.
@TheInfamousProject4 жыл бұрын
Water vapor transmisson happens through the concrete especially on old cracked non sealed flours. Plud if the car is covered this helps to trap that vapor where it condenses and forms water hence the rusts faster and will amplify anything that was there originally.

A couple of others have mentioned the “bubble gum” smelling undercoating. Is there any chance you tell us what it is? And is it permanent or just a temporary coating. I’m starting to build another garage, that won’t be done before winter sets in, so a few of my recent purchases will be outside this winter. I’m thinking that product might keep those frame rails in good shape.
@TheInfamousProject4 жыл бұрын
It's called Pro-Form. It will be sticky like bubble gum, but it will creep into any corrosion and do it's thing. Next year I will use a hot water pressure washer to get it off and treat the necessary areas!

The car looks great! The main question! What was the Barn Find Price?
@foxbodymotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Amazing find! Cool story behind it too! That thing sounded incredible pulling out of the barn. I'm really looking to change up the sound of my car and have been looking at Black Widow mufflers (currently running Flowmasters) - curious what your coupe is equipped with? That paint is absolutely top notch - lots of time and labor put into that car without a doubt.
@TheInfamousProject4 жыл бұрын
I'm all for the original Flowmaster sound... Stainless midpipes, headers and a cam all play a role in the overall tone though!
@foxbodymotorsports4 жыл бұрын
@@TheInfamousProject Yes they do - my signature sound was from a good old E-303 cam, equal length headers, 2.5" bassani off-road x-pipe and 2-chamber flowmasters through 2.5" tubing out the back. Sound was absolutely incredible. Im heading the same direction with my current car just might try a diff muffler and see if I get a sound I like before having to build a motor lol
@frugalfoxbody4 жыл бұрын
Love the content. Do you know if the car originally came from Newfoundland? It would explain some of the rust issues. I spent the first 40 years of my life in NL and now live near Ottawa. If he was from NL and into Mustangs, especially drag racing I probably knew him or met him

@mysterycomment15534 жыл бұрын
There is no way 2 years of storage did what you see underneath. They probably aren’t telling you everything. Especially if the interior is moldy. It’s not bad to store on concrete floors. Most concrete floors get sealed these days. It’s actually better to cold store a car on concrete over a dirt floor etc. Way more moisture comes up from the dirt obviously. The corrosion etc on the mustang wasn’t from 2 years of storage that’s from being driven, being wet, etc. Especially if the car has frame rail rust like you said then it’s past has seen lots of moisture.
@TheInfamousProject4 жыл бұрын
Maybe on proper poured and sealed concrete. This car was in a barn with poorly poured floors that were cracking and car would have seen -30 degrees all the way up to hot humid summers. Was the car rust free prior no.... But this situation didn't help! FYI water vapor transmisson through the concrete, and if the car is covered this helps to trap that vapor where it condenses and forms water hence the rusts faster and will amplify anything that was there originally.
@mysterycomment15534 жыл бұрын
@@TheInfamousProject I’ve been buying muscle cars for 30 years. Have bought mustangs, charger’s and chevelle’s that have been stored in numerous ways. Chances are that interior was getting wet at some point, I assume the car seen time stored outside prior to being stored indoors. I’ve only ever seen mold where the carpet could be getting wet from a bad weather strip or windshield seal/cowl vents etc. On cars with car covers that have seen moisture from the underside the car cover would have been basically stuck to the roof of the car from getting damp as the cover acts as a wick and draws all the moisture up to the roof. Being from Ontario the underside is almost a guarantee it seen winter at one point especially if the rail is swollen(only water and salt does that), the body is painted so there is no proof that it was perfect before being painted as well. Someone put time into the car obviously paint wise etc there just is no telling the cars true secrets if proper repairs were made for any other corrosion it had etc.
