Please remember he is mentally ill. Saying stuff like “definitely not the type you’d want to encounter” and “hand him some razor blades already” is really damaging because it creates a bad image around mental health as a whole. I understand this man killed his family and it’s okay to be angry at the situation. But be angry at the mental health system that failed him not the individual. If he had been in treatment earlier, or at the very least hospitalized before he took action, three lives could have been saved. Just please be careful with the way you talk about mental health because saying stuff like that makes it harder for people who struggle with mental illnesses to seek help

The thing about death by injection is the American Medical Association steadfastly refuses to allow a trained phlebotomist to administer the injection. They'll pull your medical certification if you do. This puts the american justice system in a catch-22. They have to do the execution without being cruel or inhumane. Yet, they cannot manage to be pain free because they don't have executioners trained to administer the cocktail correctly.

- Honestly we kinda need an overhaul of the system, seeing how it has been working as of late - How exactly does one not waste money on death row? Millions are poured into the defense and prosecution's side for appeals. In order to not waste money on it, that would mean to not give money to the prosecution. - If you are given a state sponsored lawyer, I'm willing to bet these would be the ones not going the extra mile and just tell you to plead guilty.

You can't be sure someone is innocent tho it doesn't work like that it's easier to just abolish the whole thing. Also what do you mean stop wasting money on it sounds easier to say than in progress

I'm all for the death penalty, as long they have the right individual. I'm sure it's horrible to be in death row, and that's why you shouldn't do anything to get there in the first place.

They'd just GIVE you a lawyer if you couldn't afford one on Death Row? That's surprisingly generous

Fun fact $3mil for 20 years spent is the equivalent of getting paid $17.11/hr without overtime for each and every day spent in prison including leap years

One thing the video doesn’t mention, a lot of those “public hangings” were lynchings of black men.

In San Quintin death row inmates are allowed to go to their 4 yards one of the 4 yards is a P.C. yard or at least that's how it was when I was in East block back in 1993.
