It’s not just a fix sum of money, the richer you get the easier it is to make more money, people are more willing and trusting to do business, you can make increasingly large investments that have exponentially increasing returns, you have the power to just outbid anything even at a loss to corner a market etc etc. the first few millions are much more difficult to get then tve following 20, and at that level it’s not even those kids or heirs that do anything they have an army of trader banker and lawyers. So to lose billions takes bad luck or someone with a unique lack of business skill. Spending all that is even more impressive, how do you spend 10B in even a 100 years? Of course you can buy anything to spend it fast but they are actually spending it on things they thibk they need, wow. I don’t see what else i could want to own if i has cats, a few jets a few yachts a few expensive houses: Then again i’m more of a multicentonaire then multibillionaire

As a Filipino, I'd like shed some light on Villar's rise to riches. They are a family of politicians that made money by land grabbing from farmers and putting up subdivisions for cheap housing. His wife also became a senator and pushed for a law that put our local farmers in a disadvantage by making imported rice cheaper, probably a push to make farmers sell their land instead. Their son, Mark, is now a secretary of the president and controls the infrastructure development of the Philippines.
