Brent you are ‘probably’ only portfolio manager who can see what’s happening on macro level, you have pragmatic approach. I agree to your suggestion/recommendation diversify (RE/Stocks/Precious Metals/Crypto) Your conviction, confidence and courage to stick to it is contagious.

So, I need to read more, but it seems like there could be a dollar short squeeze and and ‘upwind’ to dollar valuation almost like there would be a credit unwind when credit takes a hit?

at time of recording he said DXY was at 95, so the date of recording should be the same as listed for the youtube video.

Its honestly the first time I've understood that the "milkshake" hypothesis isn't primarily intended as a way to make profit, but a way to insure again worst case outcomes - sorry Brent (should you happen to see this comment?)

Appreciate the comments on the true reality of government fiat. As long as it maintains the ability and legitimacy to inflict violence, the US govt will ensure dollar supremacy.

Interesting theory, but it displays a fundamental misunderstanding of the free-floating fiat currency system, since the Gold Standard and dollar-peg were abandoned. Nations that have a sovereign currency (US, UK etc) can never default on their debt, because the Government has a monopoly on the money supply (and it can print money to pay off that debt). It's true, however, that those that have surrendered control of their currency (Eurozone members, El Salvador etc) can indeed default. Who do we owe that debt to? The Chinese? Nope! National debt accumulates when the Government runs a budget deficit. That money goes to all of us. We benefit from it, and it's why the markets boomed since covid after the massive amounts of stimulus, because stimulus is how the budget deficit is transferred to the economy. It's also how we have historic levels of personal savings and very low personal debt service burden. Debt is effectively currency that has yet to be taxed. When it's taxed, there is the opportunity to remove it from supply. Is the debt unsustainable? People will point to the big number going up on the debt clock website. What they usually don't do is scroll down to the bottom to see the total assets, which is a much bigger number. However, it's important that increases in money supply are invested into real assets that make the nation stronger, so it will be able to out-compete other nations in the long term (eg energy security, food security, education, transport, infrastructure etc). Helicopter money may not have done that, although it may arguably have preserved what could have been irrecoverably lost. But surely high increases in money supply will inevitably lead to hyperinflation? That's too lengthy to explain here, but it's a fallacy when talking about a properly-functioning economy with low levels of corruption with laws that prevent monopolies. Zimbabwe and Weimar are both highly flawed examples.

We already lost confidence in the money. And who’s going to audit all of this “gold”. The empty vaults won’t help. Bitcoin is real money and the network effect has already taken over.

Brent was being pilloried by multiple people at the end of 2020, with almost every analyst that I saw voting that the Dollar would decrease in value in 2021. Those very people might want to check what DXY has done since the beginning of 2021.
