In life I've discovered that often there's never time to do something right, but yet there's time and money to do it over. In was a pleasure to watch a CRAFTMAN!

Awesome restoration job. You definitely have all the tools and the skills. I would have preferred the wooden base all natural without the white coat. My preference. Cheers.

Nice video. I have the dual horn you tossed out last. You should fix that one up. I can't get mine to toot.

I have the same exact horn on my resto mod enduro motorcycle. Ran fine at 12v but I mounted a step down to a t just to keep from frying the windings eventually

I have found a non electrical 0-00gqh (it operates by plunger) which I want to overhaul due to the loose plunger affecting operation but boy is it super loud. Any ideas how these NON ELECTRICAL ones operate would be great.

The cleaner wood cut would be achieved with a hammer and chisel or even a router. But hey a mill machine does cut it.

What did you use to acid etch before the blueing?
@TheJayhawker4 жыл бұрын
Super Blue doesn't require acid etching. Just clean the parts well with alcohol, rinse with water, blue and let sit, then rinse with water again. I've also clear coated it with clear spray paint. But to be perfectly clear, this is a home do-it-yourselfer type product not a professional product.

@@TheJayhawker what was bubbling in the container? I thought that was acid etching.
@TheJayhawker4 жыл бұрын
@@Rottingboards I'm sorry!, I had to go back and watch it to see what I did! Yes, if you have modern zinc plated hardware and you want to make it look original toss it into a 10:1 solution of water and muriatic acid. It will strip the zinc right off.

Can you tell me where you got your converter from?
@TheJayhawker3 жыл бұрын
It was most likely from ebay. You can find a lot of 120v AC to 6v DC converters but not ones that have enough amps. I've forgotten what amps this one is but I can take a look at it sometime and let you know. I do remember at the time it was the only one I could find. It's like it was an old-school laptop charge cord or something but I'm not positive.
@ExcelsiorElectric3 жыл бұрын
@@TheJayhawker I appreciate it. I have a bunch of these horns I'd like to test out. It's hard to tell what amps these horns need, the information plates never mention it.
@TheJayhawker3 жыл бұрын
@@ExcelsiorElectric It is 5 amps.

While doing research on why my antique Sparton trumpet horn quit working I stumbled upon this video...WHOA! Just when I thought what a talented guy you are, you humbled me AGAIN! Amazing work my friend! Thank you for sharing.... although I think the horn would look better under the hood of my 49 Chevy truck 😂 Be well friend and God Bless!
