Getting "stiff armed" during randori can be a real pain, especially in the beginning of your Judo journey when you're wanting to try out the new throws you've learnt.
I hate seeing people "stiff arm" as it's pretty pointless in the long run, yes it can help stop you from being thrown in the short term, but it prevents you from being able to throw and stunts your growth as a Judo player...so if you're reading this and you stiff arm people in randori STOP IT NOW!!
However, if you're the one being stiff armed (or you just want to get the grip off your lapel and control the sleeve) this grip breaking technique can be really effective.
Give it a try next time you're doing randori!!
