Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews are absolute LEGENDS. I love them so much. He’s almost 100 and she’s almost 90! I’m glad they are still with us, brightening up our world with their acting and singing.

Yes Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke are my absolute favorite on screen couple from Mary Poppins that should have gotten together romantically in the movie Mary and Bert. I just wished that Julie and Dick fid other movies together such as The Sound of Music can you picture Dick Van Dyke as Captain Vantrapp? Or as Julie Andrews love interests in her movie One Special Night or in the Princess Dairy 1 and 2? Or Dick Van Dyke show The Dick Van Dyke show instead of Mary Taylor Moore or in his doctor series Diagnosed Murder? Interesting huh

People just age different. Genetics play a big part. A lot of the men on my Dad's side die in their 70's. Dad just died 3 months ago. 77 years old. 2 weeks shy of 78. Beat his Dad's age by 4 years. He also beat the system multiple times for 25+ years. No one on his side ever drank or smoked.

Disney did so much for so many around him. He and Hershey had the same idea, building theme parks for their employees and families to relax and enjoy themselves. This is something that goes through my mind over and over, would Walt be proud of what's become of his company today? What I would like to see Iger do before his term as CEO ends and who knows if it will ever happen, is to return the company to at least some semblance of Walt's vision of it if at all or at least a semblance of what it was in the pre-pandemic years. Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, and all in just a matter of years. As for all the movies and TV shows Disney is currently making, we can only hope that they can be something that Walt would be proud of. The company needs to do well to respect it's founder's memory.

I always wonder what Walt Disney would feel about how most kids will never be able to go to Disneyland or Disney World because of the cost of just getting in. Most parents can’t afford it. I think he would not be too pleased. He didn’t build those parks for the sole purpose of making money.

Lin-Manuel Miranda was not fond of 'Feed the Birds', considering it a sad song that scared him. Yet, he contributed to a version of Mary Poppins that ended up being a disastrously unsuccessful. Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke are the pillars of Disney in a genre truly unmatched. The song, in essence, speaks of hope, giving to others, altruism, love, and emotions that, sadly, seem to be diminished today.

I find it very hard to believe! And I admit Mary Poppins Returns is not on the original movie’s level. But it is something for a legacy sequel.
@GR1SO9 ай бұрын
Unfortunately he admitted this in interviews prior to the presentation of the film. If I can find the link I will gladly send it to you. As an admirer of the book, the film and the author with regret and annoyance, I walked out of the London premiere very perplexed, tried to enjoy it, but in the end it did not excite me as much as the iconic original film.@@manuelorozco7760
@GR1SO9 ай бұрын
Unfortunately so, I couldn't find the link to the video where he expressed his disaffection, but I did find an interview which I attach. I don't like people who despise an original, but they should always show respect. Especially on Disney's favourite song, one of the most iconic. Also because Miranda's songs become famous for being un-catchy and forgettable. While everyone remembers Spoonful of sugar, and Feed the birds. The sequel I had the honour of seeing at the London Premier at the Royal Albert Hall was full of conradition and in the end is just a tribute to a timeless classic. A pale reconstruction of a supposed sequel and altering the meaning of the original in some parts. But in fact you can see, the result of Return of Mary Poppins didn't create a phenomenon and if you ask around no one remembers a single song. I hope they don't make any more sequels and leave the original alone, not everything has to be continued, especially when it reaches the height of the masterpiece. www.npr.org/2018/12/14/675379533/lin-manuel-miranda-on-mary-poppins-returns-and-writing-his-way-onstage#:~:text=I%20just%20found%20it%20so,I%20would%20turn%20it%20off. @@manuelorozco7760
