If you're interested in any other Zelda videos, might I recommend making one or several about the different manga? I've been reading the Twilight Princess manga, and I have to say that it is AMAZING. It does a great job adapting the game without just being the game on paper, Link has a personality and character, there's more depth given to backstories, it's a phenomenal adaptation.

Giant's Knife is actually a good buy. At that point in the game, your Rupees are constantly hitting your max capacity. So if you buy the Giant's Knife, you can save it for Boss Fights only and have a nice and easy time with them. You likely won't even miss the 200 Rupees. And you don't even have to do the long boring Biggorn Sword quest chain at all. Even better: store the Biggorn jump attack damage, and then crouch stab with the Master Sword for MASSIVE DAMAGE without ever breaking it.

While I will admit I very much enjoyed my time in the world of BotW, the exploration and adventuring felt really hollow compared to my experiences in prior Zelda games. I suppose the sense of accomplishment that I got in LoZ, AoL, or aLttP will likely never be matched in future titles. BotW felt more like a dopamine/morphine drip, and a vast majority of the content seemed entirely optional and inconsequential, not to mention generic and tropey. There was no story or character development either, which is something that I felt had been getting steadily better in Zelda titles up to this point. Just stock MMORPG style collection quests, and a 5 min storyline reiterated every few hours in case you forgot in between hours of waiting for shrine load screens, teleport load screens, endless repetitive cooking 1 meal at a time or conversation trees that can't be skipped. I dunno, I kinda felt like the whole game experience was a really beautifully designed scam.

Honestly disagree with the TP Magic Armor being a scam First, there's the fact that the Cave of Ordeals ONLY drops Rupees (aside from a few dig spots with hearts). It's clearly designed to make use of the Magic Armor. Also, completing the Poe sidequest allows you to get infinite Rupees by repeatedly talking to the formerly cursed guy's cat. It's super easy to fill your wallet back up to recharge the armor. Also there's the fact that this game makes the extremely bizarre choice of not letting you take Rupees from chests if your wallet is full. If you want to open every chest in a dungeon, Magic Armor makes it easy!
@jaidens.g.19203 жыл бұрын
While that last part was changed in TPHD where you still empty out chests with a full wallet, I 100% agree - the Magic Armor was made to be used for the Cave of Ordeals
@bronzesmith45683 жыл бұрын
@@jaidens.g.1920 Wait really? I never knew you should use the Magic Armor in Cave of Ordeals. I just got the armor and never used it because it was necessary to 100% the game.
@MmeCShadow3 жыл бұрын
Agree. Even discounting the Cave of Ordeals, the Magic Armor is basically the only thing to use your Rupees on at the end of the game. It's definitely meant to be an 'endgame flex', and while it's technically an endless money sink, one has to ask what the value of money is when you have nothing left to purchase. Rupees are just a worthless collectible at that point, so yeah, why not be able to make your INVINCIBLE with them?
@kamikeserpentail37783 жыл бұрын
What does any of that matter though? By the time you're getting the Magic Armor, you're at the end of the game and no longer need it. Literally just bought it to see what it would do, and was so disappointed it made me dislike Twilight Princess.

To me it literally seems like the equivalent of Super Sonic so yeah, I kind of agree. I haven't actually played TP to know how worth it it really is compared to not having it, but I do think that getting to the late game of other Zelda games and always having max Rupees and nothing to do with them does happen enough to where it seems like an interesting change.
@byronlyons35483 жыл бұрын
@@Chibi_Rikka You can start getting this armor, pretty much after beating the 3rd dungeon. So like half way through the game. And unless you do the labor of delivering thing after making the initial thousand donation, you have to do like a two thousand rupee donation. On top of paying 598 for the armor. So potentially 3598 rupees down the drain, with you just barely having 600 rupee wallet to hold and spend rupees with. Which unless you're good at finding bugs, you probably won't have the 1000 rupee wallet to help out with. Also there is a 1000 rupee donation church guy, who gives you one heart piece after donating that 1000 rupees. So chances are that you wasted your time donating to that beforehand. As for how much the Magic Armor drains, it's 2 rupees per second, with it losing 12 each time you get hit. So, yeah, it doesn't last all that long.
@Chibi_Rikka3 жыл бұрын
@@byronlyons3548 Well sure but the point is if by the end of the game your wallet is just sitting maxed out at 1000 rupees with nothing to spend them on anyway you may as well use the armor when you need it and get some use from them, as opposed to them literally being useless. It's not like rupee farming is some impossible task, at least not in the Zelda games I've played, so I wouldn't even consider the amount spent to get it as going 'down the drain' when you can literally just find them in someone's yard every time you leave their house (unless it doesn't work like that in TP, I don't know).

Link Between Worlds tip: Save often, and just restart from the save to get your items back for free. A must for hard mode, yes, you lose your progress up to that point, but not a big deal the more often you save. Triforce hunting in WW: one of the reason this is my least favorite game. Magic Armor: possibly the best item in twilight princess for both the ganon fight and the cave of ordeals. and since rupees are plentiful in that game, I'm sorry, I have to 101% disagree with that tier 1.
@JesusRamirez-vs9bd3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've never understood why people hate the armor so much. It isn't really meant to be worn all of the time. Plus you end up breaking even with how much it can trivialize some of the harder challenges.
@byronlyons35483 жыл бұрын
You can literally cheese the Cave of Ordeals on the Wii, so you don't have to waste fighting or using the armor for that. As for the Ganon fight, just get good. So no, it still really isn't the best item, by a mile. Maybe if it didn't drain so fast, or a lot whenever you get hit, it would be better. Honestly the Magic Armor in Wind Waker original is better, by how much it drains isn't dependent on how much you get hit, but rather on how fast it drains the magic meter normally. That and it doesn't turn you into a slug in human form when it runs out.

The Link's Awakening tiles aren't that expensive - though only if you've gotten invested in the map building to begin with, since the build your own dungeons can pay out stupid amounts of rupees. It is, however, a massive waste of time - after playing with it a lot myself you can only go through the same handful of rooms so many times before you hate all of them. I actually expected there to be more tiles to buy; firstly expand the extremely limited dungeon palatte on offer but also just to have something to *spend* rupees on. By the end of the build your own dungeons you can get crazy loaded, but at the same time there's nothing left to buy! Don’t even think it! You do know how many suckers, like us, would sacrifice for just one more pull?! Having xenoblade 2 and pulling the 1/1000 blade only took 3 hours but that was due to it being easy to grind for pulls, yokai watch was... tolerable, although a lot of really good yokai were only obtained in limited access qr code based coins. The grinding for pulls gacha good. But actually using money for gacha bad and good depending on how much you are willing to not only sell your soul for pulls and good luck, but money for pulls too!

Considering Dr Mario World is getting shut down I don't think Nintendo will touch that with a ten foot pole.

Hey. I'm currently in Japan and I found what I believe is the Sinoh version of Pokemon master trainer the board game on a goodwill. I know he reviewed all the ones he could find a few years ago, do you think he would be interested? I wouldn't mind donating it if someone helps with the postage

I'd rather bribe Google into finishing the job of wiping SML off the face of KZbin (I said this cause I've seen KZbin poops of that web series that used lines from the CDI Games)

I'm so glad that you included the Giant's Knife from Ocarina of Time, on this list, since I always found it to be such a ripoff, and I agree that the Magic Armor is a big ripoff, too, unless you're able to get that huge 9999 wallet from Twilight Princess HD (locked behind a real life paywall, too). Also, congratulations on baby Lincoln.

Actually, the Giant's Knife is amazing. Because in its broken form it makes the dark link fight an absolute joke since he cannot step on the blade so you can just wail him to death X)

I have to disagree with the top tier. I get the armor every playthrough just because it looks cool during cutscenes and rupees are useless late game despite being freaking everywhere. Wearing the armor during the final fight with Ganondorf feels amazing.

I will say that I did once buy the Blue Fire in Ocarina of Time. Why? Because I didn't want to trek all the way back into the room at the very back of the Ice Cavern to get it. And it's not like you spend your rupees on anything else xD

I have to admit I'm part of a very similar problem with the Dark Souls series, I've bought Dark Souls 1 four times, Dark souls 2 five times and Dark Souls 3 two times.

I think the bigger rip-off is how quickly your wallet can fill up before getting a wallet upgrade in The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (even the HD versions), wasting precious 50-100 rupees from each treasure chest.

You forgot to point out that in OG Wind Waker, Tingle's price of 201 rupees forces you have upgraded your wallet, since it's 1 rupee more that the 200 rupee max you start with.
