32:18 well if things goes well he gives up a generative +2 from cap plus i think +4 from that bonus since it's 2 snow territories a cap and his piddle stack. for a +8 large bonus just north of it. I think he traded up. BUT it was a tit-for-tact sort of deal, seems good to me.

Funny I usually go the other way when players card skip. If it matters enough to someone to sit there with 0 chance of winning takes such discipline and to even think of the strategy they have to be quite good, so it probably matters quite a lot to them Btw pinks sack of the cap in SÉ Europe for E Europe to try and negotiate a truce was brilliant

I had a similar cap choice before and ended up locked inside the pocket. I managed to quickly get the bonus, pick off all their external territories, and managed to install an early card block. Then before I could take their cap a big player nobody was keeping in check smashed through my block and took their cap foritfying a bunch of troops to it. I managed to get the kill, set and got their original capitol so i wasnt locked but got killed next turn by the big player

Blue and magenta were both decent players. They both realised you had an unassailable lead and tried to get second. Both were also surprisingly level headed with blue keeping his nerve, despite you constantly hitting him and magenta forfeiting the cap.

@Pete! Have been loving the game and your content for a few months now. You have 100% improved my game. Made it to the dizzy heights of "master" however have found myself being targeted of late with non-sensical suicide plays... Am I being paranoid or have you experienced a similar sort of thing?

An interesting game mode would be "Timed Empire". The idea is that you set a turn limit at start. For example 10. At the end of turn 10, the game ends, and whoever generated the most troops throughout the game wins. Territories mean nothing when the game ends, but everything to help with generation. All card sets are fixed at 10 regardless of if its 3 of a kind or a dude straight. Fog is always on in this game mode. You can turn alliances on or off in settings but it does not share vision. I feel like this mode equalizes card randomness, it makes it so going first vs last does not drastically affect the game. If you measured by remaining territories the last would have a massive advantage, but total generation makes things more even. Pacing expansion and playing your opponents would be key. It would put a super unique twist on the match, and ensure timley games for those that need a hard time limit. Forced fog would reward paying attention and analyzing the growth and changes each turn. Do you think this setting could be interesting or viable Mr. Peteman?

I feel like that would be bad neighbor haven. Why would I ever be incentivized to allow my neighbor to hold a bonus? Why would they ever let me hold mine?

@@connorskudlarek8598 same reason people let you hold in a normal game. In hopes they let you hold, you let them. Troops that dont go into you can still help you. You want your opponents, at least some, to grow and help you grow. I imagine strategic good neighbor till the right time to break would be the whole strat and game

@@KevionDs in a normal game, my goal is to be the winner. In caps, that's grabbing all the caps. In territories, it's 70% of territories. In world dom, it's killing everyone. Generating troops is tangential to my actual goal in all of those modes. It is perfectly okay for my neighbor to break me if I seem threatening to their win condition. It's also perfectly okay to leave me alone if I don't seem to be threatening their win condition. If I am generating +13 troops per turn, and my neighbor is generating +5 troops, they have no incentive to let me generate troops. They're going to break me. They HAVE to break me. I am actively winning the game. I am objectively threatening their win condition. If they don't break me, I win. It'd be the equivalent of stepping off capital. You're intentionally losing if you don't break me.

@@KevionDs which don't get me wrong, it could be a fine game to play. Everyone gunning for the +2 bonus on a 1 point guard. First person to defend it will probably win the game every time though.

@@connorskudlarek8598 I think you underestimate the fog, and peoples willingness to work together to get what they want. 6 players in classic for example. I would gladly take Africa and give someone above me Europe. Makes them the target, I still get plus 3 to compete and can focus on a different front. Let my enemies break for me, and if needed betray when the time is right. Alliances would be tense and it would be a game of who can play their opponents best. I doubt Australia would win everytime. Probably only wins if EVERYONE is bad neighbor. But in a lobby where even two people play nice and hold, your generation wont be enough. The resources you would spend trying to weaken them would only fuel thier desire to work together to survive and then leave you more vulnerable. The fact your mentality is so much different makes me want the game mode even more to see how people would play and what kind of meta could develope. Appreciate your view and discussion! For all i know you might be totally right. Guess we wont know till someone makes it ;)

Hello Pete, I am a Huge fan of your channel and watch almost every video of yours. I am just starting out in multiplayer, just with classic world dom no blizzards. I do pretty well emulating your strategies, making alliances strategically and everything. The problem is that I usually get to a 3 player game at the end, where I hold NA and SA usually with a 3 point hold. Usually there is an AUS player and Middle player. Without fail they never let me accumulate enpugh to do any damage. Either the AUS player suicides me, or the Middle player. I consistently die to this. So Pete, what is a better strategy if I find myself in this End Game? ❤

4:03 that got me an idea: commander mode where its like capitals but the capitals are commanders that give four dice to when you attack from them every attack you move the commander to the territory you attack to and every fortify from the territory of the commander the commander moves too win like capitals by taking all commanders
