I once wrote a song, a dedication song for the Kings and it went like this man on white horse came riding along. He touched my soul when he's saying his song a king. I knew I heard him before I didn't know. Then he'd open my door. I was in the dark place when I saw his face separate from the whole human race. He opened my eyes and showed me light, gave me the courage and stand up and fight. Now he's gone but I'm still strong. I still hear his song. He was sent straight from heaven. There have been two great travesties in the history of rock 'n' roll: 1). That The Monkees are not in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame. 2). That "This Beat Goes On/Switchin" To Glide" never made the Top 40. This is a REALLY good performance!

Did you see McCartney and his band singing the Monkees theme as they walked to the stage at the O2 in London last week? They had a big impact for sure, however, there's quite a few we might put ahead of them that aren't in either. And we got close to the Top 40...it's a long story why we didn't.

Closer in to Los Angeles, there's a few clubs around like the Saban (around the corner from Playboy HQ in Beverly Hills) and they have another in the for Northwest boondocks. The casinos in Riverside County (about 100 miles East of Los Angeles International Airport on the way to Palm Springs) have some neat venues. Lots of Boomers live out that way. If you happen to be vacationing out here in late April/Early May and (1) have time to play a set (2) want to be surrounded my mass amounts of homebrewed beer of every style and (3) get paid for less your normal rate (just being honest), there's the Southern California Homebrewers Festival.. Now THAT will give you a hellacious case of Partyitis!

Wow! Cool show. A couple cover bands I was in played "It's OK" and "Beat/Switchin'" for years back in the '80s & early '90s. I recently had a chance to play a couple tunes with one of our guitarists at my hometown's Fun Days, and picked "Beat/Switchin'" as one. It had been about 35 years since the 2 of us had played that together. It was wild! Thanks for writing such a fun song. I was hoping to hear "Amazon Beach" or "All the Way" live in this one, but that's OK.
