Thank you! This is so helpful, i have just started volunteer teaching with refugees and most are at the lowest level of English. It has been much harder than students with some basic language. After watching this I feel more confident for my next class tomorrow! 🙏

Thanks for the video. I happen to know and understand the first language of my beginner students. It's much easier for me. It also makes their learning process faster. Because in some cases during the lessons, I act like a translator. It's really important for me because, during the lessons, there will always be instances that might require you to give the students instructions. Instructions and questions like "repeat after me", "what is this". "Say it again". Also, I translate the actual subject, words, or sentence that is being taught for a better understanding.

Your video is bloody brilliant. I'm a new volunteer ESL teacher with absolutely no experience or education on how. to. teach. I need exactly the lessons you're offering: 1) Walk into the classroom. 2) Say hello. 3) Walk over to the board. 4) Write your name.... I've been looking for this PRACTICAL guidance since I started teaching (accidentally, I have to add) five weeks ago!

Hello! Thank you so much for this! I have a question: You said that you erase the vocabulary and phrases from the board when it's time to do some writing (in Point 1). Do you ask students NOT to write the words in their notebooks when you present them and write them on the board? I find that my students write down everything as I present. Or, do you just ask them not to look at their notes when they do a gap-fill or other exercise?
@TheLanguageHouseTEFL
@TheLanguageHouseTEFL Жыл бұрын
It’s all about not looking at notes as much. If students are just copying from their notes, they are not pushing themselves to remember the vocab.

He can't even read in English .By the way,the parents told me I shouldn't teach him alphabets and reading their main focus is speaking skills.
