I'm watching these videos in January 2021 and having a ball. Thank you so so much Kate. I've been unwell for a bit and now I can relax and enjoy being confined to bed and am making progress which is fantastic. I recommend you to friends and family neighbours and everybody because your videos remind me of when my late mum or one of my six sisters or brothers and I would sit and chat while doing some mundane everyday task. It feels so comforting and homely that I bless the day you first came up in my KZbin! I think God and the angels present us with what we need just when we need it most!

There are just so many negative people in the world...my dad's mother was a lovely woman...a Baptist minister in a small church in Iowa. She was one of the first women who went to Moody Bible College in Chicago and truly lived the sweetest life. She always said she felt so sorry for people who only saw the negative in the world because they must be so unhappy....I think that's probably true. She said the real test was to find something good in everything....guess she was a type of Pollyanna in real life! When I find myself tending to be more negative I find she pops into my mind and I try to stop. If I find something I don't like I just move on...quietly!! Like a grown up! I love every thing you do!!

Hello Kate, I've been watching for about almost two weeks now, sent over from Arne and Carlos. I started watching them when someone suggested they were doing a knit along just after covid started. I just moved from a busy city to a rural environment from one province to another buying my first house. I'll be 68 in May 2021. I knit, sew, weave, crochet and have done macrame, counted cross stitch and sewed my sons winter snow suit and mine when he was little. I've just become addicted to Frankie Brown's Ten Stitch Blanket where you start with a square, make two corners, and you keep going around and around until it's as big as you want or you run out of yarn. I love your show, even though you might be busy, I find the sound of your voice very relaxing as I sit here and knit watching whatever you're busy with. I'm having tea. I love that large patchwork curtain along your window. I've especially liked the one where you are tidying your 33 drawers, however I can't seem to watch them in chronological order as KZbin seems screwed up. My son moved to England just before covid. He's just across the river from Liverpool. It's been lovely chatting at your table.

Good evening Kate, loving your chanel. Have picked up knitting needles again after probably 10/15 years of not knitting. Making the mitre blanket and loving it. Planning a day with my mum tomorrow and am aiming to introduce her to it as well, she's into her 80's and is complaining of stiff fingers so maybe the knitting will help her as well. Loving your curtains and easy manner, so sitting her on the lime green sofa with a purple patchwork cushion at my back and a lovely jewel coloured stool for me feet, right cuppa on the left and knitting in my hands, what are we chatting about today then Kate ...

I am amazed by your curtains! I tend to shy away from large projects but they [the curtains] inspire me to just get on doing and then I can enjoy all the color! I so look forward to your videos. You have a gift of a wonderful nonjudgemental manner and it is quite comforting! Sadly, some of the blogs I loved are gone due to the negative remarks from viewers. I love this type of video with you simply having a visit and sharing what's going on with your life. As you were visiting with us, I saw the shadow of cats running the length outside your window. I found myself saying, "look behind you, Kate." I had forgotten that you are on tape. You do have gadgets and tools I've never known existed until I saw you with them. In fact, I went looking for the long needles for hand quilting after you mentioned yours. This past year, I realized that it's not best to make gifts for people with ingredients or themes that I've not first asked them if they like. For instance, I made pumpkin-themed projects at Halloween for gifts, only to find out later that some of the recipients don't like pumpkins or Halloween. Lesson learned. Thank you for being here. I don't expect you to respond here. In fact, I know of some KZbinrs who have disabled all comments because it's just too overwhelming for them to receive comments and not post a response. Truly, I don't think anyone posts comments with the expectation of a personal response. Happy Holidays!
@thelasthomelyhouse5 жыл бұрын
one of those shadows was Clara the hen for sure! and I always ask now because my kids have very particular tastes - so it works better that way - I though about disabling comments - but I see that some people like to chat with each other here - so - if people understand that I answer when I can - and just read when I can't - then I think we can stay friendly with that! xxxx

What a lovely church and the crafts are beautiful. I use to do shows like that and it was fun but it also wore me down. So much so that I didn't touch my sewing machine for a very long time but then I discovered quilting about 5 years ago. I'm still not keen on the piecing but the fmq is my absolute joy. I find myself escaping the news by quilting and binge watching movies and tv shows. I just watched the first 6 episodes of His Dark Material and can't wait for the next episode to air. Listening as I crochet a prayer shawl, actually I am uncrocheting because I messed up the pattern, and then I will work the pattern more carefully, just a nice friendly visit.

I live in the Maple Syrup Capital of Manitoba. We have a Maple Syrup Festival every April, which is so much fun. We tap the trees, make taffy in the snow, go to the sugar bushes in horse drawn carriages... And we have pancakes every morning on that weekend with fresh syrup... Dale from Canada

Hi Kate. I'm so happy I found you. I'm fairly new to this place I live and I also retired so life has changed a lot for me. I don't know anyone here except my son and his family. My granddaughter who is 9 is my bestie. She's so funny in her ways. I have now adopted you as my new best friend. I love your chats and you are a lovely person. Thank for sharing your time with us😘😘😘😘😘♥
