I started crafting many years ago and kept my 'things' in a carrier bag, which progressed to a cardboard box...then of course I 'needed' a desk...took over the spare bedroom and finally ended up with a large summer house 🤣😂🤣 I love looking through beads and buttons, so satisfying!!

I collected beads and findings for about a decade. I made necklaces to add zip to my work wardrobe. It became addicting--the collecting. I put them away for some years, got them out the other day, but my tin box of pliers is missing! OH NOoooooo! I stopped wearing jewelry during covid. May start wearing some bling again. Thanks for the noodge!

That is what I am calling Mid January thru the end of February. I will put up lights. Purple, red and white( purple is my color like Pink is for you). I have various ideas for making heart and love decorations. Some which included the collection of beads that I have. Years ago I did a bit of bead necklace making and have all the supplies. You’re such an inspiration. I have also decided to make the best of this new lockdown. We are at our highest level here In California as well. Hello Kate .. I'm so intrigued that you've been to the bead shop in Long street in Cape Town South Africa.. Bead work is a classic art among our amazing indigenous people in the different regions in South Africa and the whole of Africa.. different colours and and symbols represent specific meanings .. e.g. triangles means a family .. father.. mother .. child .. green for land and health .. red for bravery and strength.. yellow for energy .. etc.. thank you for sharing your time and kindness and calmness and most of all your wonderful inspiration.. stay blessed .. sending you love and hugs from Johannesburg South Africa xxx

I have several strands of colorful beads I inherited from my mom when she passed away. She and her sisters used to get together for "tea" (they lived in Texas) and they would put on big floppy hats and necklaces and have a great time laughing and visiting. I love the necklaces, but I never dress up in anything they would look right for. I mainly wear flannel shirts up here in northern Minnesota. They had lots of fun playing dress up (they were in their 70's and 80's at the time), so the beads bring back good memories. Have fun wearing your beads...just for you! :) (I gave several strands to my daughter. She has the right fashion flair to wear them!)

I haven't worn any fragrance for over 5 years! Need a change of pace. Being creative is very dangerous. You get an idea so you start looking for things you need, as you're digging you come across other things you haven't seen in a long time, the creative juices start flowing so you leave it out, next thing you know you have all this stuff out that's made a big mess, if you're lucky you've found what you were originally looking for and if you're really, really lucky you remember why you were looking for it and really, really, really lucky if you remember what your ideas were of all the new stuff laying about.

My 15 mins of fame as they say. After making so much jewelry, I pledged that I would wear a necklace every day whether it be sweatpants or pajamas. I was pretty dolled up! HA! Lastly, I have to agree with what Jan's mum use to say. I had an aunt who would always say "The golden years, but no one said they'd be tarnished." Sitting comfortable on the lime green sofa with all. Take good care and stay safe.

Wow Kate what a beautiful selection of beads you have. I do make jewellery, using all sorts of findings and lampworking is one of my favourite things. I make bracelets, earrings, necklaces and various wire bending techniques. I usually give them to people and say no cost to me donate to a charity of your choice. Like you I am struggling with my eyes, I think as I will be the big 50 next month my body is saying listen here old girl get better specs.. I recently bought the beading needles that collapse so they will go through the smallest of beads and they seem to help out a great deal. You were right by the way, I was no Kate pick more pink. I love the red beads they will go well with your clothing you had on. Crimping beads are a life saver..lol.. Never used the magnetic clasps, but I will buy some now you have shown me that they work. Another blessed time listening to you. Thank you so much so bored with the lockdown, needs must I guess. Take care of yourself. Happy crafting.

I used to watch the tv channel jewellery maker. Bought myself the pliers set and some beads. Made jewellery for my daughter, which was 10 years ago. Yesterday i watched a youtuber who made a very beautiful delicate necklace and i was thinking of making it for my daughter. Never made delicate jewellery. Here you are today making beaded necklace... WOW. 😍❤️👌👏👍. Your necklace is beautiful

Your beads are beautiful, Kate. My mother used to wear necklaces and clip type earrings when she didn't have little ones in her care (she was a licensed baby sitter for years) I still have alot of her jewelry, and your beads brought back happy memories. Thank you for sharing you time and talent

Oddly enough, I'm also looking at a snowy day! The difference is that mine will all be melted and gone by tomorrow afternoon. East Texas is not exactly a Winter Wonderland. Ha! My dog is definitely a southerner as she is refusing to go out. She'll have to eventually because her eyes are taking on a yellow twinge. During my last sewing/craft room purge I decided I would let my beading supplies go elsewhere to live with someone who might actually use them to make things. Watching your video made me feel the need to bead. I will go back to quilting at the Sweet Sixteen until the beading urge passes. Take care, Kate!

Some years ago I used to do some jewelry making of the beading variety and quite enjoyed it. I even upcycled an old chandelier by spray painting it and adding swags of beads and crystals and hung it in my bedroom. I love how it turned out.

Just before the holidays I dug out my bead stash and made a loooong strand of beads with camel bells at each end and used it as a garland on my back porch. I’ve been stringing more with big crystal prisms on the ends to make rainbows in my house. Rainbow o’clock makes me unreasonably happy! I also have to buy a few new beads so that I can use up all my stash:-). Thanks for sharing your beading project!

Oh you do make me smile, ty!!! I have tons of beads in a big box upstairs, all jumbled up from my bead making days so you've inspired me to sort it out! I used to make all sorts and one of my favourite things was decorating book marks so I might just do a few more. I gave a pile to my granddaughter recently so she's been making bracelets but I must sort mine out! I found lots of old junk beads in charity shops, which of course are sadly closed again now but they're a great source for bead buying. The necklace is lovely. My Gran used to say why save your lovely things for going out. Get dressed up every day! She always wore her clanking necklaces and bracelets, wouldn't be seen without them. Thanks Kate, another uplifting video. Stay safe pet.xxx

I love the idea of wearing a different set of beads each day of the week, especially during lock-down. The colorful beads are a quick cheerful way to brighten a new day,. I'm going right now to find at least seven pieces I like. Why store them away? Thanks Kate and thanks for the beautiful evening photo at the end.

You made me giggle about "Maybe Agnes will wear these in a few years, with a feather boa or something." I have a 10 month old (first) granddaughter. I've saved my daughters' dress ups for her and will keep my heels for her dress-up box (I can't hoe weeds in heels anyway. ;) ). Your beads are beautiful. I love your creativity + energy. :)

Hi Kate, I've given up trying to figure out why I'm attracted to things. Especially shiney baubles or particular colors and patterns of fabric. I no longer feel like I need to explain it to others. The heart wants what the heart wants. So keep your beads girl play with them and wear them with pride whenever the spirit moves you. We should pick a day and all wear our beads together 😍
