Hello Kate .. I'm so intrigued that you've been to the bead shop in Long street in Cape Town South Africa.. Bead work is a classic art among our amazing indigenous people in the different regions in South Africa and the whole of Africa.. different colours and and symbols represent specific meanings .. e.g. triangles means a family .. father.. mother .. child .. green for land and health .. red for bravery and strength.. yellow for energy .. etc.. thank you for sharing your time and kindness and calmness and most of all your wonderful inspiration.. stay blessed .. sending you love and hugs from Johannesburg South Africa xxx

I have several strands of colorful beads I inherited from my mom when she passed away. She and her sisters used to get together for "tea" (they lived in Texas) and they would put on big floppy hats and necklaces and have a great time laughing and visiting. I love the necklaces, but I never dress up in anything they would look right for. I mainly wear flannel shirts up here in northern Minnesota. They had lots of fun playing dress up (they were in their 70's and 80's at the time), so the beads bring back good memories. Have fun wearing your beads...just for you! :) (I gave several strands to my daughter. She has the right fashion flair to wear them!)

I did lampworking years ago. I miss it. Now you’ve inspired me to get out all of my baubles. This is my first visit to your channel. Lovely visiting with you.

I giggled when you assigned your new necklace the label "week day beads"! I have certainly done the same with pieces of my own jewelry! Loved the video Kate! Thank you for sharing your time with us! 🙂

What a relaxing craft for a sunny, snowy day of lockdown. We do what we have to do to find joy these days. Just do what makes us happy. TFS the inspiration, Kate!

Some years ago I used to do some jewelry making of the beading variety and quite enjoyed it. I even upcycled an old chandelier by spray painting it and adding swags of beads and crystals and hung it in my bedroom. I love how it turned out.

I found you through the Arne and Carlos channel and wanted you to know that I find you delightful...I have a cup of coffee or tea and knit listening to you like a friend sitting with me. I sometimes play with beads and your tip on using 2 crimping beads is an excellent one..thank you for being here.❤️

Just before the holidays I dug out my bead stash and made a loooong strand of beads with camel bells at each end and used it as a garland on my back porch. I’ve been stringing more with big crystal prisms on the ends to make rainbows in my house. Rainbow o’clock makes me unreasonably happy! I also have to buy a few new beads so that I can use up all my stash:-). Thanks for sharing your beading project!

Oh you do make me smile, ty!!! I have tons of beads in a big box upstairs, all jumbled up from my bead making days so you've inspired me to sort it out! I used to make all sorts and one of my favourite things was decorating book marks so I might just do a few more. I gave a pile to my granddaughter recently so she's been making bracelets but I must sort mine out! I found lots of old junk beads in charity shops, which of course are sadly closed again now but they're a great source for bead buying. The necklace is lovely. My Gran used to say why save your lovely things for going out. Get dressed up every day! She always wore her clanking necklaces and bracelets, wouldn't be seen without them. Thanks Kate, another uplifting video. Stay safe pet.xxx

I love the idea of wearing a different set of beads each day of the week, especially during lock-down. The colorful beads are a quick cheerful way to brighten a new day,. I'm going right now to find at least seven pieces I like. Why store them away? Thanks Kate and thanks for the beautiful evening photo at the end.

You made me giggle about "Maybe Agnes will wear these in a few years, with a feather boa or something." I have a 10 month old (first) granddaughter. I've saved my daughters' dress ups for her and will keep my heels for her dress-up box (I can't hoe weeds in heels anyway. ;) ). Your beads are beautiful. I love your creativity + energy. :)

Hi Kate, I've given up trying to figure out why I'm attracted to things. Especially shiney baubles or particular colors and patterns of fabric. I no longer feel like I need to explain it to others. The heart wants what the heart wants. So keep your beads girl play with them and wear them with pride whenever the spirit moves you. We should pick a day and all wear our beads together 😍

Kate, looking at the pile of beads you started with resembles all the colors in your hexagon quilt on the wall. ❤

Your perfect timing has struck again, I have just pulled beads out to make suncatcher for the window to go next to my glass wish stick. It was lovely to visit while I am dodging the hot sun outside.

Stringing beads takes me back to early childhood and stringing Cheerios cereal onto shoelaces. It is a totally consuming task that ;lets you live in that very pleasant moment. Thanks for sharing.
