HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE ON THE LIME GREEN SOFA. Love the choice of color for the bee box it is a very happy color brings joy and a smile. I really enjoy it when you are outside and the different sounds you can hear in the background. Learning about the bees and how they produce honey makes me really appreciate the wonderful local bee keepers that produce the Arkansas wildflower pure honey. Absolutely delicious, I use it in many of my recipes instead of sugar, much healthier and pure. I believe the Queen will love the color of the bee hive, because she wears very beautiful and colorful clothes. Another wonderful Sunday visit and I love it when you just chat about everything. I have learned so much from you and what you share.

Hello Kate and everyone on the line green sofa. Sewing masks for my family and for anyone else around. It's been a learning process. I have revised my design several times mostly because I didn't have elastic. But it seems to be working. My son had to visit Walmart so I told him to get more fabric. He found fabric with transformers on it. So, naturally, he got it. So the question remains, whether he will find elastic or will I sacrifice another tee shirt for ties. It's been a little windy here today, and grim looking outside. Take care everyone. Stay safe.

Lovely to sit and listen to the soft brushh, brusshh, brusshh sounds as you painted, meditative really. Maybe that's why they are called brushes.. LOL. Loved all the bee and chicken info Kate, I have a lot of bee questions but I know you will cover them in another episode. You don't need another list of things to do, ie answer questions about the bees. I always have google. Take care and I love the acid yellow also. Fern in Minnesota, where we got about 3 inches of the white stuff. Gorgeous outside and when I went for a walk I saw a lot of bunny footprints. It appears the Easter Bunny isn't as large as has been reported. hehehe

Thank you so much for the lesson about chickens, and bees! I thought hens made that sound because they were closing up the hole where the egg came out; kind of like shrinking the muscles. Ha! What do I know? I’m a city girl who now lives in the country. You are like my husband; he raises chickens and he doesn’t eat eggs either. People find that odd, and I find it difficult because I have to cook for him. YES, KATE!!! I LOVE IT!!! I remember when you painted the chairs and I loved the color then. And the bee lesson. I never knew that you could capture swarms to put in your hive. I had seen a swarm once, in a campsite, and so many people were freaking out, afraid they would get stung. But we told them the bees wouldn’t because they were just happy to be with the queen. Either you’re painting or sewing, no matter what you do, you are a joy to watch. Now if you decided to watch grass grow, (or even paint dry, heh heh), I might get a little bored.

I like the colour very much - so cheerful and uplifting! As to the rooster business, we had them for a variety of reasons. When we'd get our day-old chicks they weren't sexed, so there'd usually be the same number of hens and roos, so then we'd have to figure out what to do with them, once they'd made their maleness known. The one we'd keep had a very important job, and it wasn't what you think. A roo will protect their harem, with everything they've got. We had a lovely rooster that fought a Rottweiler and won! He lost his all his gorgeous tail feathers, but the hens were safe. The other reason we kept one was so we could replenish the flock from time to time. Heavenly to see biddy and her chicks. I miss our chickens so much, but too hard to keep where we are. We used to call the flock our home entertainment center. Love to sit talking to you, dear Kate. So peaceful...

I have 1 rooster with 23 hens. I quite like him, my husband does not. I like to hear him crow. He stands guard watching for predators, when they are free ranging. When a suspicious bird flys over he gives a warning cluck and the hens all run back to the coop. It's quite amazing. Not all roosters are very nice. I've gotten rid of all but him. It's not pleasant when their only agenda all day is to mount the hens. He was hatched by my broody bantum from a neigbors fertile egg, 50/50 chance & of course he was a he. But he's turned out to be the nicest roo I've had. First chick my hens hatched. What is the wood house shaped structure behind you in the video?

Happy Easter everyone! Hope the Easter Bunny was good to your all! Oh my goodness Kate, you and I are so much alike. I also forget what I was talking about in the middle of a conversation! I love hearing about the hens, rooster, bees and Eileen. You should put the rooster in with a couple of hens and hatch out some little chicks. It is such fun seeing baby chicks. I also enjoy hearing all about the bees. We had a swarm here in our eve a number of years back. It was amazing getting up on the ladder and being nose to nose with them and watching them all huddled together and flapping their wings keeping the queen cool. We figured they came out of a load of firewood that was delivered to the house. A bee keeper came and got all the bees for his hive. Please don't edit out anything, as everything you talk about is very interesting.

Hi Kate, your doing a great job with painting the new bee hive, that yellow will really stick out on your property. We have 3 Lilly Pilly small trees planted about 5 foot from our lounge room window and this morning it is very active with lots of bees and for the first time in years the trees are full of beautiful white blossom, must be all the rain we have had, I have been watching the bees until my eyes boggle.I had 40 winks on your lime green sofa yesterday I slept just sitting back but did not take up any extra room for others to sit an when I woke up after a few chats with others on the sofa watched a movie called (the water horse) so today I am going to watch (our little sister), another movie to watch is called (the red turtle) it is like a cartoon with no talking and I enjoyed all of it, it had light music playing in the background, worth a watch anyway. So Kate hope you have enough paint to finish the hive have a good day tomorrow Monday, keep safe, sending you hugs. I wanted to move my sewing room upstairs, and the spare bedroom downstairs. I also wanted to paint before I moved the bed down. Well, the walls were pealing, and I had to put on some plaster, so that had to come first, then paint, and yesterday my oldest daughter helped me put the bed downstairs. Now on to my new sewing room. It's hard for me to go step by step. I think of the idea, and want it done immediately. Really, patience is not my strong suit! Lovely day painting. We have snow on the ground. I want to finish the plant stand I started a couple of weeks ago. Hmm, another day.

I’ve collected lots of yellow, golden yellow, and amber coloured papers to make a bee journal this spring. I dyed some papers with rusty sludge (Will share the recipe if anyone is interested) and they are wonderfully distressed yellows like coffee dyed paper. I will make the journal a celebration of beefiness.🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🇨🇦❤️🙏✌️

RavenStealstheNight, make up a container of 1cup white vinegar and 1 cup hydrogen peroxide and 2 tbs. salt. Soak iron nails, other iron objects, and metal things such as hinges, springs, auto part pieces, etc. After a few days the liquid gets rusty orange with sludge at the bottom. Swirl it around every now and then. Paint the sludge on paper or cloth or immerse in the sludge poured into a cake pan or aluminum pan. Double or make multiples of the recipe but keep the metal bits in it for future dying. Good luck and have fun. Oh, the rust can not only dye but leave a grainy residue on paper. I sprayed my papers with Workable Fixative like for charcoal or chalk pastel artwork.

Hello to all on the lime green sofa. Happy Easter. So kind of you to teach us all about the birds and the bees, Kate! That paint color looks lovely on Norma!🙄

I have never been around hens so it is always interesting to me when you tell us about them. And I loved hearing about the bees. I get honey from local beekeeper and now appreciate more what he does. Thank you so much for my place on the lime green sofa

The color is perfect. I think everyone would agree that you can film anything and we will be captivated. It's been a quiet Easter Sunday with the exception of visiting with my children via Zoom. Be well, Kate.
