That is exactly what I did for my baby Simon in his last days. I put the couch beside my bed so he had a place close to me that he wouldn't fall off of. He was my favorite dachshund and he was blind and a bit delirious at the end so he would walk right off of the bed if I didn't watch him like a hawk. The couch trick allowed me to get a little bit of sleep.

Hello Kate, my husband Terry and I (Helen) are new to watching your lovely channel. I related at once to the joy you seem to find in needlework. My mother taught me the English form of patchwork, using hexagons, when, as a bored 10 year old, I had to tag along to choir practice with them. I sat there on a church pew like a little old lady, sewing (rather badly), until I had an entire quilt. Eventually some of the ladies in the choir started bringing along fabric off cuts for me, but my loveliest day came when a parcel arrived from England, containing my Grandmother's dressmaking off cuts. We live in South Australia. I'm 63 now and still making quilts. I learnt with that first one that they tell stories of people's lives. So I'm sitting on my sofa, happily sewing another story in the pieces of fabric I'm joining together. Thankyou so much for sharing your beautiful quilts and life stories. Helen

My Lebanese pals here in the intercontinental-boreal plains of Canada are heady advocates of a hard paste of cloudy honey, & equal parts of cayenne pepper and cinnamon. Take a pea sized 'pill' of the mixture in the morning & it will stir your circulation to stave off the cold. As for me... cayenne gives me the worst indigestion imaginable! LOL Glad you're feeling better. Always wonderful to see you & yours.

Hi Kate. It's good to hear you're feeling better. Being sick is the worse. I noticed your kitty at the beginning of the video was drooling a bit. My oldest just had dental surgery to remove all of his teeth. He was in terrible pain and constantly drooling. Hopefully your kitty doesn't have those issues. He/she's a cutie. =)

Dwayne Custer that’s Norma, she’s 17 this summer. Yes, she’s a dribble cat, I tend not to notice much any more, but she does put my visitors off! She’s eating fine and enjoying normal cat life so I’m not too worried about her. All the teeth!!! Does that cat just eat soup now??? 😂 I think she’s doing ok for 17. She’s not gone near the kittens though - you can just see her thinking ‘what now? Just leave me in peace why don’t you!’ These sunny days she just sleeps in a flower bed somewhere basking in the sun. She has a lovely life. It was not always so. She has a remarkable story. 🌿❤️😊

Tyler had every tooth removed and he's only 6. He has a disease that made his body reject his teeth. He's feeling 120% better now and no pain. He eats like normal. In fact, more so. He loves the kibble I buy him and eats it right up with no problem. He also gets plenty of wet food.

Kate, try watching "Cog Hill Farm" on KZbin. It is a homesteading family who live near me in Alabama. They have goats, an Emu, a pig, a steer and a cow, all sorts of chickens, ducks, geese and peacocks. Everyone has a name and each is loved a great deal by the family. They are building a new house for themselves and the wife's mother. Their teenage daughter knows everything there is to know about any kind of bird. I just love their channel! On a different note, I've been collecting men's silk ties from the thrift store. Once washed I'll take them apart, will interface them to prevent raveling and then cut up so I can make blocks for a quilt. I'll let you know how it goes...

Oh so glad you are feeling better. So sorry you got so sick. Kittens are so sweet and growing like weeds! Take it slow and don't over do. Juicing is a great thing when your ill. I made a big batch of Fire Cider last autumn to ward off winter colds and flu. Neither of us needed it this year but always feels good to have it at the ready. Potent stuff!

I have been ill for 22 years now but life is good just a bit different. I always have loads of projects on the go. I want to make a quilt by the quilt as you go method doing a square at a time. Most of my projects are done in bed . My two cats love that I'm in bed most of the time . I have a huge stash of craft stuff and I am working my way through it all . I have a lovely view of the sea from my bed. Happy days. X

Yes , I've been watching Justin and the beautiful one from their beginning ,Mr. Brown was very little then . I even got my grandaughters into watching it .they love his 100 days of growing food . I love Mr Brown, but my favourite kid is Josiah - he seems to be the quiet one - always in the background while that big bold brother of his gets all the attention. I find it difficult to watch all the 'harvesting' of the animals, which is after all , a polite way of saying 'killing' thats the vegetarian in me I guess. But i think their work ethic is second to none. xxx

@@thelasthomelyhouse , Yes ! I agree with you on the favorite kid , Josiah is my favorite too , he is the sensitive ,quiet and shy one of the family . Having grown up around harvesting farm animals and having hunted myself (deer and rabbits ) I'm ok with it .I like meat , so made myself face the facts involved . I can do it , if I have to but I don't really enjoy it . I don't hunt any more for the simple fact that I know if I have to I can. I always heard hunters being happy and excited about their kills , but until you actually do it I guess there's no way to know how you will react , I knew I was a good shot ,but my first reaction wasn't joy ,it was sorrow . I always apologized to the animal, and thanked it for feeding my family.xx

I wanted to let you know that there are many soap makers in the UK that have you tube channels that you might want to check out -- one is Future Primitive soap channel and also Edens Secrets 1, obviously if you chose to purchase any you wouldn't have the high cost of shipping.. I don't know how everything links back to Hercules candies??? Do you not eat or drink chicken soup when your poorly?? Normally when people feel poorly and don't have much of an appetite they have a lot more liquids.

It’s not something I’ve ever thought about before, it’s just Soap after all, but watching Royalty Soap create those little works of art - well, it kept me entertained when I was poorly. I’ll check out the channels you mention. But do you remember the quilt I made at Easter? Well the recipient is a soap maker. I might just go and sit in her workshop for a while! Yes Katie does create great soaps, she's only just been doing it since she was a teenager and now she's a wife and mother. I think you would enjoy watching your friend make some soap! I know I am months and months late, but I am slowly watching all of your videos in order. I don't believe in coincidences. First I found Hercules about three weeks after they posted their first video. Then I found Sara S. not because Hercules had posted about her or because youtube had recommended her channel but I was searching and devouring every chocolate candy making video I could find and she happen to be a fan of Hercules. Then she put me on to Royalty Soaps. I love Katie! She is such a delightful person. Her soaps have inspired me to try something really interesting with chocolate. I can't give too much away, but I think it has never been done before. I have had to wait till the weather cooled. Chocolate making in the heat isn't such a great thing. Now its cooler I need to clear space in my kitchen. I have been having mixed emotions about the kittens. I'm sure by now they are grown and happily living with their new families. We had our 15 year old three legged cat die a few months ago. Soon after we got a 7 week old kitten. I thought he was too young to be away from his mother but the owner assured us he was eating hard cat food and was in the process of being weaned. He wasn't so I was hand feeding him goats milk and some canned cat food. When we took him to the vet for his shots the vet said he was small, a little underweight but we were doing great with him and keep up the good work. Not vaccinations till he was bigger. He gave us an antibiotic to give to him in case he was developing an infection. That evening we gave him the first dose and it went all downhill. I immediately phoned the vet and had him on the phone when the kitten died. Less than two minutes after giving him the medicine. The vet said from our description it was from an anaphylactic reaction to the meds. I love watching your sweet kittens but there's still a pang of sadness when I watch them.

ChocolateRx oh, I’m so sorry about your kitten, but it sounds like he had a poor start from his first home. Please don’t let that put you off because it sounds like you need a cat in your life. My gang are such good company and now we are coming up for the Dark Days they keep me sane! There are many cat rescue places that have many cats in need of a home like yours. My friend runs one, she has 48 cats and kittens who need good homes. I’m happy you found my channel and if you enjoy some of the content, then I’m over the moon! Thank you 😊 xxxx
